Borned in 1925 and died in 1999 in Mahabad, Mihemed Mamli was both a very popular singer in Southern and Eastern Kurdistan d’Irak and a political activist, a member of the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran, arrested many times by the Iranian regime. He was 20 under the Republic of Mahabad, and that event is a noticeable one for the political culture of a young man. He sang in the tradition of great Kurdish stranbêj kurdes, with a sad and deep emotion, which does not prevent the perfect control of his voice and his modulation. He renewed thus a fine art with a great ease, giving the feeling that he has invented himself the rules with which he played. A great master.
