I've wondered this for a while, she doesn't look particulary Kurdish, but her name (Gorani) and her place of origin (Aleppo) make it plausible.
Perhaps a grandfather, because in this interview I just found she says she's Arab:

I have to disagree, her light hair and eyes may not be typical for a Kurd, but in terms of facial features she looks like a Northern Kurd.

Not true at all. If white was determined solely by phenotype, then practically most of Kurdistan would be classified as 'white'. Since the Med(Iranid/plain Meds) types are really common in SK, along with Alpinized Iranid types. Being 'white', I learnt the hard way as I used to be brainwashed is more of a cultural term related only to Europeans.

Sorry but what makes her look more "Syrian" than Kurdish? She doesnt look particulary Syrian for sure. Zert you seem to have not come across many Kurds from Western Kurdistan and border areas, her look and face is very typical for Kurds there.

Even if it was culture, then the Norwegians aren't white either, since they are descendants of us who settled in the area and mixed with the ancient Europeans, and then the Spaniards aren't white either since they are well known for being mixed with the Basques who have a language that is related to Turkish and who adored Attila the Hun and by that considered to very possibly be the descendants of the Mongolian Huns.

We are not white, white is a cultural and political construct. "White" is not a racial classification since Siberians are equal "White" Than South Europeans. Caucasian is a racial classification and based on genetics Kurds are more Caucasian than many European folks.

White is just an arbitary term that North west Europeans gave to themselves to claim superiorty over other people. Can you believe that only a few centuries ago that Slavs and Southern Europeans weren't even considered white?
