A friend of mine gave me the same wand as a gift and talisman and I brought it to Kurdistan in 2006 or 2007. When custom opened my bag in Erbil airport it was quite embarrassing to explain what was it (not a weapon). If I have answered afsûn (magic) they would think I was mad. So I tried to explain that it was for being lucky and suddenly the officer exclaimed " :Oh yeah you are christian !"

He thought it was a sort of catholic holy wood. I confirmed and they let me passed the check-point ;)

:ymdevil: :)) =))

It is obviously a pointer used it teaching :D

I have to go into the woods and make my own wand ;)

Which oils would you recommend ?

There are many test on line about how to chose your wand according to Harry Potter's Olivander shopkeeper. You have to choice also if in your wand you want a dragon hearstring, a phœnix feahter or a unicorn hcoreair : on http://www.pottermore.com

Mine is pear with unicorn core, 11.5 inch, reasonably supple ;)

and I am in Gryffondor House :D

WARNING : VERY GIRLISH POST.

I am reading Lorraine Massey's Guide for wavy and curly hairs. Because I am sure of one point : I have not straight hairs.

I think I am the 2nd type : s'wavy or wavy but with (alas) very fine hairs. So I am absolutely unbale to keep a tidy and unmessy coiffure during the day with my short hairs. Ia another hand, I can't have a punk brush style because of the poor mass of my hairs (I have silky baby hairs).

And in Kurdistan, I am sure that I will find no good bio unagressive products for hairs. And I will get up at 6. And I will have no time to quickly comb the appearance I have after one night :

Image

The other challenge : how to cut my hairs ? Because as far as I could see, girls and women there have no short hairs (no boyish style).

So the challenges : finding a way to have presentable curls every morning ; finding a way to cut my own hairs ; or finding a longer cut which suits to my face (not easy, I think I am made for cropped hairs ; and of course finding a way to allow to my hairs to grow longer without ending as dried herbs.

Many options, a lot of perplexity. :-\

HARRY POTTER !

Did you really get yourself a Harry Potter wand ?

I am going to do it the old fashioned way

Go into the woods and find a suitable twig

Strip the bark off and allow it so slowly dry

Then cut off any sticking out bits and rub it down until it is smooth

Once smooth I intend to massage at least 3 different oils into it

Questions:

Which oils are the best?

Should I massage the oil in from the centre outwards as I do for candle magic
or
Should I massage the oil in from base to tip?

Should I used Quartz Crystal on the pointed end and Obsidian on the base?

Quartz Crystal pointers should have smooth side not faceted sides as those lose energy :ymdevil:

You know better than myself these hard questions, I have never practiced magics  though I would be not bad concerning potion field and divination.

Bought 2 big suitcases. Impressive, I never traveled with such luggages.

I never asked to the I Ching. But 3 days before I knew my move, I've asked about my 50 year. I got :

45. GATHERING TOGETHER.

Six in the second place means:
Letting oneself be drawn
Brings good fortune and remains blameless.
If one is sincere,
It furthers one to bring even a small offering.

Meaning : In the time of GATHERING TOGETHER, we should make no arbitrary choice of the way. There are secret forces at work, leading together those who belong together. We must yield to this attraction; then we make no mistakes. Where inner relationships exist, no great preparations and formalities are necessary. People understand one another forthwith, just as the Divinity graciously accepts a small offering if it comes from the heart.

Six in the third place means:
Gathering together amid sighs.
Nothing that would further.
Going is without blame.
Slight humiliation.

Meaning :
Often a man feels an urge to unite with others, but the individuals around him have already formed themselves into a group, so that he remains isolated. The whole situation proves untenable. Then he ought to choose the way of progress, resolutely allying himself with a man who stands nearer to the center of the group, and can help him to gain admission to the closed circle. This is not a mistake, even though at first his position as an outsider is somewhat humiliating.

Six at the top means:
Lamenting and sighing, floods of tears.
No blame.

Meaning : It may happen that an individual would like to ally himself with another, but his good intentions are misunderstood. Then he becomes sad and laments. But this is the right course. For it may cause the other person to come to his senses, so that the alliance that has been sought and so painfully missed is after all achieved.

=> 44. COMING TO MEET. The maiden is powerful.
One should not marry such a maiden.

Meaning :
The rise of the inferior element is pictured here in the image of a bold girl who lightly surrenders herself and thus seizes power. This would not be possible if the strong and light-giving element had not in turn come halfway. The inferior thing seems so harmless and inviting that a man delights in it; it looks so small and weak that he imagines he may dally with it and come to no harm.

The inferior man rises only because the superior man does not regard him as dangerous and so lends him power. If he were resisted from the first, he could never gain influence.

The time of COMING TO MEET is important in still another way. Although as a general rule the weak should not come to meet the strong, there are times when this has great significance. When heaven and earth come to meet each other, all creatures prosper; when a prince and his official come to meet each other, the world is put in order. It is necessary for elements predestined to be joined and mutually dependent to come to meet one another halfway. But the coming together must be free of dishonest ulterior motives, otherwise harm will result.

It is easy to travel from airport to airport with luggages. I am used to go alone. At my arrival, someone will pick me up.

Exactly. Kurds insist you have to be ready before a dead line and are the first surprised that you REALLY respect that dead line.

Once, in Afrin, there was a picnic. The eve before, one of them told me that we have ALL to be ready to leave the village at 7.00 am. Of course, a traveler understands what is a started hour. So at 7 I was dressed, get up and waited. And at 11 the same guy enter in the living room, still in pyjama and brushing his teeth. He asked me with suprise why I was there (and ready to go).

– You told we leave at 7.

Amazed look and answer :
– SO… you, in Europe, when we say be ready at 7, you are really ready at 7 ???

That's seem to be a consecration of your witchness' condition and abilities. :D

In the tarot you use (Mythic) the High Priestess (or Papesse) is shown as the goddess Persephone, so the power to go and back between 2 worlds.
