This is where you can talk about every subject (previously it was called shout room)

OK, my future boss called me : They hope my arrival between mid September- beginning of October.

ANTHEA : for refugees' children, classes are going to open for preparatory-primary school in ENGLISH.

Have you some advice concerning books or programs for children around 5-6 years ? Or do you know where I could find the English programs for young pupils ?

And also French manual courses for 10-17 in English languages ? I will order them in paperback (pdf is also ok).

You will have such fun :ymparty:

I am jealous :ymsick:

BOOKS:

Once I picked up a highly recommended book for adults with no knowledge of English. Within the first few pages it mentioned VOLCANOES and EARTHQUAKES so mostly I made my own training material for beginners and only used books when students had a basic knowledge of English

My 1st mission is to FIND manuals. I need books.

I vanish due to heavy thunderstorm :-s

It is easy to teach a new language at that age :D

I would recommend a picture dictionary and lots of interaction games

Also if you have a strong Parisian accent invite other English speakers to chat with the children

You might like to hold parties for 5 November, Guy Fawkes Day, and Halloween :D

I like to do odd things just to get people to learn words - flash card are good

If they learn a few words before they have books - when they open the books they say to themselves 'This is easy'

It is all about awakening their intrinsic motivation

Just found this site:

Intrinsically motivated students are satisfied with the feelings of accomplishment that come with doing quality work and applying themselves.

Teaching is great fun :ymhug:

Thanks, but I don't think I will teach the little ones myself (I have not the patience for crying dwarves). I have just to find books and work on the programs. I will teach French and perhaps sometimes English but for the secondary school. Perhaps other things. In fact I don't know exactly what I am going to do. Just that I will be like McGonagakll heping Dumbledore in a magic Kurdish Hogwart Schools :D :o)

And being also a sort of Mentat (as in Dune) concerning the Kurdish issues, a sort of international secretary in foreign relations, etc etc.

Just told today to Kendal that I leave to Duhok. Things are beginning to be serious.

PS : I am not sure to have a strong Parisian accent but I will make them watching many movies, cartoons and listening to audio.

Watching Broadchurch season 2. Very good, may be better than the Season 1. Perhaps because I've always admired Charlotte Rampling .

Are you going to leave some of your belongings with your mother?

I expect your new home will be fully furnished :D

I want to leave everything in a short time : giving, throwing stuff, even furnitures. The problem is what I am going to do with the studio ? Sell it, probably, but currently I have no time for that. And if I keep it in France it could be a financial burden (taxes, etc).

So I don't know yet.

I know one thing : I want to be in Duhok in October, 1st, ready or NOT.

Ask to your pendulum if it has good advice :D

I expect your studio will go up in value so it is probably a good idea to keep it :)
