Site went down for a while today probably due to the shock of Muslims calling for a jihad on Cadbury

Calf Sanctuary
We are a small family unit of myself ( sharon and partner warren) who run the whole sanctuary of which is now over 3 fields in widespread locations.
We recently took on another field our first SAFE piece of land, a 4 acre plot that we own and know that some of our rescues will be safe and happy forever.
I gave up the mission to get the dream farm which really did break my heart, but i know that it is only a dream, as it seems no matter how hard i work i can never get high enough up the ladder to reach it .
BUT
I do not give up easy so i now reach for the dream for the animals that is doable
We recently acquired the Whitby 4 acre plot of which is our first part. On the strength of this i said yes to saving the life of three piglets which to be honest really should not of been done as we are already stretched to the max with just two of us doing it all as well as working.
But i did and i now have to do whats best for them, if that means sleepless nights and worry about how we can make it all work then so be it. I just look at their little faces and i know i could never of walked away from them.
I also took the plunge to rescue a highland bullock as a lifetime friend for our lonely highland heifer “gevan” who we brought home saved from slaughter last year.
Again another challenge as these two will be in the field of dreams ( a 4 acre rented piece of land ) in foxholes of which i personally can manage now but come winter it will be hard when we have to start lugging the hay bales around.
Myself and kat run a vegan cafe in scarborough that i had hoped would fund the sanctuary, but sadly building the cafe is a long hard process and it only just covers its own overheads.
To try and support our sanctuary we also run our webshop but again that brings in nowhere near enough to come close to covering all that is needed.
I recently borrowed funds on the new whitby field as a way forward as i know that come next year our tenancy on the small holding may not be renewed so i needed to try and find safe land, sadly 4 acres without sheltering is barely enough for 3 cows let alone all the rest of our rescues. Our 3 piglets will move over there once they are big enough and the fences have been done and im hoping to move out most of our animals to new fields that are owned by calf sanctuary then we will downsize from the big farmhouse that we rent to a small home and travel to the fields we have ( not ideal but i can see no other way )
If i do not pull somekind of magic out of my hat soon then calf will disappear, not through lack of trying because i always give my all.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR SUPPORT COMING
We REALLY need to acquire another small field in the same location as the forever field now so that we can start to move out the animals to forever homes that are safe![]()
