13 December

In England many people are superstitious - some believe that Friday 13 is an unlucky day - it seems that the Americans are just as superstitious as the English - are Kurds superstitious?

The sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times, and their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year (there are two such occurrences in 2013, exactly 13 weeks apart) portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear. According to phobia specialist (and coiner of the term paraskevidekatriaphobia) Dr. Donald Dossey, it's the most widespread superstition in the United States today. Some people refuse to go to work on Friday the 13th; some won't eat in restaurants; many wouldn't think of setting a wedding on that date.

Planes have no nº 13 seat, nor hotels room 13.

Christian superstition : At Holy Friday they were 13 guests at table, and it had a bad end

Exactly. When it happens, people invite a 14th guest (whoever it would be) or one of the guests have to cancelled. :-D

I am fed up with all the killing in the name of religion - if I had my way I would completely get rid of the 3 trouble-making religions - Christianity - Judaism - Islam - they are purport to be against killing - they all say that their God is against killing - they ALL worship exactly the same God - and they all keep killing each other - sheer madness

The entire world and everyone on it would be a great deal safer and happier it we all reverted to one of the earlier beliefs - such as the Native American one above :ymapplause:

19 December

The Financial Times said Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government will likely secure 83 percent of revenues generated by KRG exports with the Kurds getting 17 percent, a split Baghdad has apparently endorsed.

KURDISH OIL

Iraq get 83 percent X(

Kurds get 17 percent X(

Were the above extract from any other media outlet - I would have thought it was a joke - but The Financial Times is not known for it's sense of humour - I need a cup of tea to recover from the shock :-o

It is the Iraqi law, and an agreement between Iraq and KRG : KRG send all its incomes to Bagdad and Bagdad gives 17% of its budget to Kurds. Unfortunately, Iraq does not respect it and the last years, hardly paid 11%.
