Whne the conference starts, we are exhausted : arrivals to manage one by one ; those who have not yet given their paper to the translators ; the program which changes all the time because local teachers make scandals if they are not registered on the list, names which are not welcomed by authorities of the university who delete them ; other names which are added because they are in good relations with the same authorities… And finally, the team of translators is unemployed for, in spite of the constant promises of M. Ihsan, the room has no material for immediate translation…
Then, after having printed thousand and thousand pages or program, and made many and many badges, the morning of the first day, we learn that there will be none translation at all.
This tiny issue being resolved, now we have to deal with the members of the conference, each of them putting his part of fun : the Kurdish Princess who comes without being announced (not the problem) and makes a scandal because she has no badge at her name, and exiges that we make one IMMEDIATELY … The one who is unhappy because his name is bad spelled on the badge, those who want to make hundred of photocopies at the last minute and threaten to boycott the conference if we don’t execute, those who missed the car and arrive in late, a Travel Cook Agency atmosphere… .
