Suddenly incredibly concerned by Kurds’ suffering, the Syrian government ordered to make beautiful funerals and spared to families the burden to organize themselves the ceremony. All was taken in charge with a great care by Damascus. A lot of supporters were there, too, shouting “Allahu Akbar” with President Bashar al-Asad’s pictures, while the coffins were wrapped in the Syrian flag.
According to a representative of the Kurdish party Yekitî, Syrian services conscripted students and pupils for a such masquerade, and brought even Arabs on the place, which had probably nothing to do with the victims.
Indeed, how could we imagine Western Kurds burry their beloved with the Syrian flag, by shouting Arab slogans ! In general, Kurdish funerals, when they have a political aspect, are more like this one with another flag and with callings very different than “glory to Asad or Hezbullah”.
