Yes, but the borders are not normalized, so they are more than 40% of the population. And many Arabs come illegal to Kirkuk and with their birth rates, one day they will overtake us.

I think we Kurds need higher birth rates and not feminism, what the KRG want to implement in Kurdistan.

Feminism is the death of people, like now in Europe.

40% more ? lol you sound like an arab , you dont know what is going on so i wouldnt comment if i was you .

Sorry I mean Turkmens and Arabs, not only Arabs.

But with a normalization of the borders, Kurds will be more than 80%.

The Ministry of Migration and Displacement has decided to build a residence community for those families returning from exile.

Azad Sabir Jabar, a member of the Migration and Displaced Committee in the Kirkuk Provincial Council said, “The MoMD decided to build a residence community for those families that fled into exile in the times of the Baath regime and who had not yet returned.”

The residence community will be built in cooperation with the KPC, according to Sabir.

The KPC has no statistics concerning the number of Kirkuk families in exile, while it has allocated 25 acres of land on which to build the promised residence community.

Before 2003, many families have fled into exile in fear of being killed and the Anfal by the Baath regime.

According to a statement issued by the Parastin Agency, the Kirkuk Governor visited Masrour Barzani, head of the Parastin on May 1. In their meeting, both parties discussed the importance of keeping the security of the region and Kirkuk and facing ‘terrorism’.

“The Kirkuk governor thanked the continuous support of Masrour Barzani and hoped for more cooperation between the Kirkuk administration and the Parastin Agency,” according to the statement. Masrour Barzani insists on peace and coexistence among all the factions of Kirkuk in order to serve the province better.

The Kurdistan Parastin Agency, as well as the Security Forces of Kirkuk affiliated with Kuridstan Democratic Party, have an active role in the Kirkuk security situation, with one of the best examples being the recent recapturing one of the 19 escapees of the Jailbreak Incident.

The Kirkuk Provincial Council unanimously approved the budget of the province for 2012, which was a trillion and 19 billion Iraqi dinars, the highest budget in Kirkuk’s history.

In an urgent session held on May 3, the KPC approved the budget of 2012, as the priorities were given to people’s basic services. Jamal Mawlwd Bapir, head of the Finance and Economy Committee of the KPC said, “After discussion, the budget was approved for 2012 for 1,591 projects.”

The approved budget was one trillion 19 billion ids, and consisted of 598 billion ids from the Provincial Reconstruction and Petro-dollar budgets, as 371 billion ids are from last years continuous projects, and with 50 billion ids not spent in 2011.
Qasim Hamza Bayati, a member of the KPC on the Turkmen list said, “The highest priority was given to the basic services for people, such as electricity.” He added, “The budget was equally distributed to projects from the city, districts, and town, as students, sick people, and children were given importance in budget expenses decisions.”

Mechanics to be relocated outside Kirkuk as people demand

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Fri May 04, 2012 1:00 am

Following people’s complaints, the Kirkuk Province Governor has decided to relocate the Kirkuk mechanic shops to outside the city, a step which has angered the mechanics while it pleases the people.
In some of the neighborhoods, the roads and streets of Kirkuk are strewn with car parts and the smell of petrol as these areas are being used by mechanics.  Mechanics work on the streets, but people say they have been bothered by the crowds they create.
People had raised their complaints to the Kirkuk mayor, as he subsequently decided to relocate the mechanics to outside of Kirkuk.

Jabar Ibrahim, a driver in Kirkuk said, “The mechanics have created problems for us too, because they attract crowds and create more traffic for us.”
As a passenger travels from Erbil and Kirkuk, nearly 20 mechanic shops are located in and around the main streets, as they bring crowds to the streets filled with their car equipment and tools.

Azad Karim, 35, is a resident of Rahimawa near the main street.  He said, “Instead of parks and gardens, you face tires and oil changes when you enter Kirkuk.  They have polluted the environment”

Nazdar Muhamad, 31, also complains that drivers and mechanics make the streets crowded, saying that “No one can go out at home freely,” she said.  “They make fun of us.  Here it is a place of living and not an industrial area.”
However, the mechanics want to stay at their current locations, while the Kirkuk mayor threatens to punish anyone who does not follow the decision.  “People’s complaints were a reason to decide on relocating them,” according to Kamil Salaiyie.

He also added, “The current location is not suitable.  That’s why we decided to open an industrial area for them,” without revealing the name or location of the new site.
Although Kirkuk already has an industrial area, most of the mechanics do not plan to open their shops there.  “We’ll relocate all of the mechanics there soon,” the Kirkuk mayor said.
Ahmed Salim was one of the mechanics in the Rahimawa neighbourhood.  He said, “I won’t leave here until they compensate me, because my life is on this job, while the Kirkuk mayor promised to punish anyone who violates the decision to relocate them.

Budget approval, business and reconciliation

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Sun May 06, 2012 5:46 pm

May 3 2012

Members of the Kirkuk Provincial Council have approved the 2012 budget, which is the highest in Kirkuk’s history, and the style of the approval gives light to the cooperation between the different factions in the council.

Despite some notes and critics and in an irregular session on May 3rd attended by the majority of members, the KPC approved the 2012 budget to be spent on projects in the province, according to their needs.

The budget’s priority is to improve electricity in the province. The council members say it was the first time to thoroughly discuss the budget between all of the factions and subsequently have it approved by all.

The approved budget was 1.19 trillion ids, and consisted of 598 billion ids from the Provincial Reconstruction and the Petro-dollar budgets, as 371 billion ids are from last year’s continuous projects, and with 50 billion ids not being spent in 2011.

The biggest budget is to be spent for various projects set to number 1,591 in 2012. Ramila Hamid Obeidi, the council’s member on the Arab Gathering list said, “The budget is distributed equally on the towns and provinces.” She added, “It’s the first time after 2003 that we all agree on an approved budget.”

Obeidi said the project is not without shortcomings, “We wanted more thorough investigations for the coming projects.” The tensions over the budget were so high in the past years that some of the factions were boycotting the budget for months.

The KPC has given the priority for implementing service projects. Ahmed Askari, Security Committee head in the KPC said, “The biggest portion is for electricity, then for Kirkuk and districts’ municipalities, such as road works and water shortages.”

Askari said, “It’s the first time we haven’t neglected anything, social, human rights, or healthcare.”

Qasim Hamza Bayati, a Turkmen Council member said, “We agreed on the way of spending the budget and distributing it. Most of the areas are taken into consideration.”

This year’s projects include improving basic services, student aid, healthcare, women and children affairs.

if I was in Kirkuk government, I would work hard at making friends with the arab population (whether they moved in recently or not). Convince them that THEY want to be a part of Kurdistan and make them feel like Kirkuk is theirs as much as it is for the Kurds, Turkmen and Armenians.

I think that is exactly what the government is doing now. But it is really difficult to realize it, because the Arabs and Turkmens there are very anti Kurdish.
