no here is the pipeline as you can see it actually goes thru the Sunni region , Tikrit to Mosul then via Zaxo so its not entirely passing thru KRG nor is controlled as such , and as you can see clearly here as well the Kirkuk's giant oil reserve mostly lies in KRG .

now i can comprehend why KRG dont declare independence. i had thought the baba-ceyhan pipeline goes trough the kurdish region, but son of bitch iraqi-arabs let built it around the kurdish region and trough arab areas as well as possible (probably because of our kurdish peshmergas heroes). you are good informed kak alan , thanks a lot. that helps me to understand. that means we have to wait until genel energy is finshed. was it this as serok barzani sayd, we have to wait for the right moment/final stage :? i think yes, i hope yes. i cant wait anymore... :D

yes indeed my dear without an independent pipeline that connects KRG to outside , sending oil out via trucks as we are now is not convenient nor does it send the amount of oil needed for a kurdish state budget , dont get me wrong once KRG produces 500,000 barrel per day , our budget will sky rocket over $30 Billion if we sell them ourselves via a pipeline , this is exclusive of the revenue from agriculture and tourism , according to an official statistics in one month last month 350.000 tourists visited Kurdistan :D .

another important card KRG played was , Baghdad said i wont pay the expenses to the oil companies operating in kurdistan this is a pressure on these companies to pack up and leave , KRG then stopped oil export via kirkuk - Ceyhan pipeline , Baghdad then increased the oil flow from kirkuk baba fields , then PKK blows up them god damn pipeline as it goes throu Shirnak in NK ;) (work are ongoing to fix them in NK by turks) , so eventually they had to give in , yes the pipeline is built around KRG from saddam era , but in NK it goes right throu the kurdish region and where PKK is dominant .

no, if KRG is one day independent, then we will benefit from it. we will demand a lot of money for them 8)

then PKK blows up them god damn pipeline as it goes throu Shirnak in NK ;)

Interesting , in the press conference at Washington institute , Barzani was asked on this matter as to why KRG wants to build its own pipeline barzani replied saying , well the current pipeline is not efficient for the flow KRG oil exports therefore it needs a new pipeline to increase production . well said barzani ;)

Barzani : Maliki is heading for dictatorship

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 7:02 am

Published Sunday, April 8, 2012

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is monopolizing power and preparing the ground for a return to dictatorship, Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani said in an interview published on Sunday.

"Iraq is moving towards a catastrophe, a return to dictatorship," said Barzani in the interview published in pan-Arab newspaper, Al-Hayat, adding that it was "unacceptable" that Maliki was also Iraq's "defense minister, interior minister, intelligence chief and commander of the armed forces."

Barzani, who was received at the White House on Wednesday, said on his return to Arbil he would call a meeting of Iraqi leaders to "save" Iraq which is facing a political crisis.

In Baghdad, Maliki's spokesman, Ali Mussawi, sharply criticized Barzani's remarks.

"There is an incomprehensible escalation from Mr Massoud Barzani and it is rejected, and no one among the Iraqi people or others accepts it," he told AFP.

"Many different Kurdish leaders called us and informed us of their rejection of such tendencies, which could be useful to some factions that do not carry good intentions to the Iraqi and the Kurdish people," he said.

Iraq's political woes deepened after the central government in Baghdad issued in December an arrest warrant against Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, a Sunni, accused of running a death squad.

Hashemi sought shelter in the autonomous Kurdistan region run by Barzani.

Barzani said the meeting he would call must come up with "radical solutions...specific timeframe to exit the crisis," and if it failed "we will take another decision" – a reference to the possible secession of Kurdistan.

"This is not blackmail or a threat. I'm serious. I will put a referendum to the Kurdish people. Whatever the price, we will never accept a return to dictatorship in Iraq," Barzani said, referring to Saddam Hussein's rule.

Barzani’s warm reception in Washington is a warning to Malik

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 7:19 am

The warm reception Masud Barzani has enjoyed in Washington is seen by observers as a warning to Nuri al Maliki’s Iraq government in its disputes with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Barzani’s visit marks an historic step for the KRG in strengthening its ties with the US, during days full of unfulfilled rumours that the president of Kurdistan was about to declare a Kurdish state.

According to the Research Institute for Strategic Studies in Turkey, the warmth with which US President Obama and Vice-President Biden received Barzani is a clear warning by the US Administration to the Maliki government not to mess up its relationship with the KRG.

The Institute also says that the Turkish state is very critical of Maliki’s role in Iraq and is siding with the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region. And a source from the Ankara-based Centre for Middle Eastern Strategic Research (ORSAM) told Sunday Zaman: “The stances of Erbil and Ankara against Baghdad are very much in line, due to the fact that both are disturbed by Maliki’s dictatorial government”.

Conditions for Ankara to recognize the Kurdish state in KRG

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 10:13 am

Image

2012-04-13

Turkish media sources said that Ankara agree to recognize the state of Kurdistan in Kurdish Iraq, according to several conditions.

The newspaper "Twilight News" daily: "The United States asked Turkey to recognize the state flag, because it's in their interest," adding: "Turkey may agree to this request for certain conditions."

According to the paper, the "Turkey demanded that both the United States of America and the Kurdistan Region to support its military operations against the PKK, and the closure of all outlets in Qandil mountain and give full support to Turkey in its war on PKK."

It is noteworthy that senior officials in the Kurdistan Region, especially the Kurdish regional president Massoud Barzani has repeatedly asserted their willingness to cooperate with Turkey, except for the fighting and military operations against the party, and focus on dialogue and negotiations and decision-peaceful means to reach a final solution to the issue of Kurdish in Turkey.

Arabs can't but Turks can as they control our borders to the west and they are a vital route for our oil . It's a win win situation PKK will be forced to lay arms and dissolve from KRG they can/will continue their work in WK though.

i really don`t want ONE DROP of kurdish blood to be spilled by another kurd. i would be supporting an peace treaty with PKK,or to make them lay down thier arms PEACEFULY,,but i don`t want any PKK freedom fighters to be killed by peshmerga or the other way around....
it would be ok to shut down their bases politicly, but not militarliy.
don`t misunderstand me. i of course want my homeland to be free, and if this is the only way, then ok. but i really hope they solve it politicly and not militarily

While turkey is using the so called "terror card" to delay giving Kurds their very basic rights , do you in all honestly believe that the Kurdish issue will be resolved by turkey through peaceful means ? If anything ,the massive arrests of Kurdish politicians , intellectuals , journalists , activist , civilian , student has proven that turkey is not ready to take such steps .

The so called "initiatives " is a joke and time has proven that . turkey is quite capable of ending PKK's arm struggle within few month and leave no reason for PKK to continue fighting , but they are not doing it why ? Why should we blame the oppressed and not the oppressor and since when self defence became illegitimate and going on your knees is a way to get your rights as a human being? .

Most of you give KRG too much credit and almost a blind faith in their ability to resolve the Kurdish issues across Kurdistan . KRG is doing well in the south and protecting the south has been their first and last priority and no one is blaming them for that . On the contrary they had and have the support of all Kurds from across Kurdistan .

So Unless KRG can get a solid deal from turkey in resolving the Kurdish issue through autonomy or some sort of federal system ,the north should be left for the Northerners to decide and we should support their actions whether it is political or militarized .

I think it is better for the PKK to concentrate more on politics

do you think, pkk dont want a peaceful solution. the terrorist state gives us no chance for peaceful solution.
they need propaganda and civil war, so they can arrest thousends of kurdish politican and childs, so they can makes war crimes and prevent a autonomy in north-kurdistan.
if they want solve it without weapons, then barzani should support lay down arms, but if they will kill our freedomfighters, then i dont want there support for an independent state. we will make it with or without turkish help, but we should not fight against our brothers and sisters in pkk. never again brother brother war.

Shafaq news has published that Turkey has agreed on a kurdish state in KRG as the Americans had urged them to , but it has set conditions for such move .

The website also reveals that Turks have shown their support for the idea and know it will benefit them in the long run.

The condition that turkey has laid forward is both US and KRG support Turkey in shutting PKK bases and camps in Qandil mountains.

Few days ago Murad Qayralan , KCK leader had announced that CIA from KRG is seeking to fight PKK and close their camps and bases , as well as shutting all the routes that lead to where they hide in Qandil

when they say in some conditions,do they mean things like not making peshmerga a military superpower etc,or is the PKK issue the only condition?
