It was agreed that the US would broaden the services provided by its consulate in Erbil.

The exact nature of this is currently unclear , but i wonder what they might be !!! i posted an article from http://www.foreignpolicy.com yesterday i would like to highlight 2 important suggestions from the author of the article:

*Allow Visas to be Issued From Erbil
*Let U.S. Planes Fly to Kurdistan

if these services begin we can say that kurdistan has stepped up its independence about more than 60% , but unfortunately supporting a kurdish state was postponed by Obama's administration maybe it might change with the republicans coming to power , as some of them have vast shares in some of kurdistan businesses .

but i think we should not wait for them to support us but instead declare it and then the pressure will mount for them to support it as we all know no one will come and say here is your kurdish state we have to announce it and then we wait for Americans to come and recognize it specially if we do a referendum then they prob cant turn down the votes of 6 million people ... , but what i dont get here is the news from CIA boss urging turkey to accept a kurdish state ( it was also published by Washington post and no US official denied the news) , something is defiantly going on our President must be clear with the kurdish people .

In all case scenarios once we declare it the worst thing is US using veto against it which i doubt if they do as we are no Palestine , then we will be independent without a seat in UN like Cezch republic is (Russian veto prevented them from a UN membership).

Also if a kurdish state "Republic of Mahabad" in 1946 without a strong army , 20+ consulates , 40+ oil companies and producing 200,000 oil bpd to rise to 1 million bpd in 2014 can last 11 months , i am sure a kurdish state in KRG in 2012 with these advantages can last for ever .

Lastly we will survive closed borders by iran and turkey as we did from 1991-2003 bcos of UN sanctions on iraq , it was actually turkey iran and iraq , but bcos kurds live on the other side of the borders of iran and turkey , the sanction was not too effective on kurdistan than it was on Arab iraq but this time it wont be a UN sanction but mainly turkey and iran , but syria is going to be a friendly state towards KRG.

Bangladesh is a recognized country and KRG is not ?? LoL.

but i think the main reason for delaying it is to wait till oil production reaches 1 million bpd , that way a kurdish state can stand strong and wealthy , and KRG's oil minister told a media conference in US that they are building a new pipeline to bypass the Ceyhan-Turkey which is under iraq's control , that way kurdistan will have its own independent oil export route , as currently kurdistan oil is sold via trucks to Afghanistan.

I personally think that when we declare independence Turkey will not close its borders as they make profit from the trade with kurdistan. I even think that they will become friendly with Kurdistan so that their domestic problems won't increase.

Mosul Kurdish areas are under KRG so are the oils , its only 1/3 of kirkuk oil field Iraq holds .... this is what they mean cos the other 2 one is developed and one remaining .

this field is currently producing 200,000-400 bpd , but few days ago well no.1 in Baba structure dried up as its been pumping oil for 80 years now , so its likely baba structure will dry up but the remaining 2 which lies in KRG will be pumping for decades, one is developed and only started producing oil in 2006, the oil from this structure called (kurmala) is used for local demands , i think the 3rd undeveloped structure (Avana) in Makhmour has been awarded to ExxonMobil and is still undeveloped.

shit :D
is it necessary to build new piplines? kurdistan could connect the two not developed structures with the infrastrucure from baba. that will speed up the process for producing oil, or not?

no , see KRG does not have a pipeline of its own at the moment , its under construction and the company undertaking the work is turkish general energy

Genel Enerji Plans New Kurdistan-Turkey Pipeline, FT Reports

Genel Enerji AS plans to build a pipeline that will connect its fields in the Kurdish regions in northern Iraq to a port in Turkey on the Mediterranean, the Financial Times reported on Monday. The pipeline will have a capacity to export 400,000 barrels of oil a day, it said, citing Tony Hayward, the former head of BP Plc, who runs the investment company Vallares Plc that has announced an agreement to merge with Genel Energi.

it will connect KRG to Cayhan port in turkey directly thus bypassing the iraqi pipelines , i dont know how many oil fields of KRG going to be hooked up to it, as you gotta leave some for local demands , so in case Iraq decides to block our oil export when we declare a state its best to have an independent KRG own pipeline , at the moment KRG oil is sold thru Baba-Cayhan , and apparently some oil is smuggled but KRG has started an investigation into the claim .

aaahh ok, i understand, thanks for info, i thought when kurdistan declare independence inclusive baba field, then iraq has no more controle over the pipline and cant block

no here is the pipeline as you can see it actually goes thru the Sunni region , Tikrit to Mosul then via Zaxo so its not entirely passing thru KRG nor is controlled as such , and as you can see clearly here as well the Kirkuk's giant oil reserve mostly lies in KRG .

now i can comprehend why KRG dont declare independence. i had thought the baba-ceyhan pipeline goes trough the kurdish region, but son of bitch iraqi-arabs let built it around the kurdish region and trough arab areas as well as possible (probably because of our kurdish peshmergas heroes). you are good informed kak alan , thanks a lot. that helps me to understand. that means we have to wait until genel energy is finshed. was it this as serok barzani sayd, we have to wait for the right moment/final stage :? i think yes, i hope yes. i cant wait anymore... :D
