Shayani niya - you are welcome.
i am glad the link is helpful. Thats sorani - english dictionary, not perfect, but more or less ok, for you good coz its in both script, sorani and latin:
http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~iranian/Sor ... bulary.pdf

if your boyfriend is from Duhok he is in fact badhini, and its like kurmandji (to be hoinest i dont know the exact difference of these two languages). but our poor badhini brothers (at the other hand, lucky brothers, coz they know two languages) are supposed to know sorani as well, as its the official langugae of the country. so i reccomend you to learn sorani - its much easier than kurmandji.

sorani keyboard - in case you like to learn the script:
http://www.lexilogos.com/clavier/sorani.htm

try this one as well, as i remember its the option of listening as well:
http://gloss.dliflc.edu/search.aspx
yes, i checked now, for example if you choose one of the easy lesson:
http://gloss.dliflc.edu/products/gloss/ ... _act2.html - if you click the second page, you will see little palyer below the page numbers. its nice website, coz teaching also about the culture

thats all, coz all the other links are for those who know sorani writing (in case you need them, tell me).

by the way - how many languagaes you speak? coz i counted two from parents, who from different language background, plus swedish where you live, plus english which you use here - is it four? or more :D ?

You've been very helpful Kulka, I can't thank you enough! I have saved all the links you sento to me ;)

Yes he is badihini but he said he also know kurmandji and sorani. So it's up to me which one of them i want to learn. But he told me the opposite actually, that it's easier to learn kurmandji then sorani but i guess it's different for everyone.

Yes you counted them right :D it's four, Swedish, Spanish, Hungarian and English, and i studied French a while ago but i've forgotten most of it..

How many languages do you speak? :D

Paula,

If his first language is badhini for him kurmandji is surely more easy. you can choose it, but if you dont want to have extra headache to learn which word is male and which is famale - i recomend you to turn into sorani. :D - but as well you can learn both, coz i see you dont have problems with that matter. its opposite than me, i have a big problem with learning - my brain is too old for that  . to be honest i dont speak any languagae properly, english more or less and at the moment i am trying to learn sorani.

badiní is sub dialect/accent of kurmanji it not different than kurmanji. I think also kurmanji is easier because i know sorani speakers that say that.

Example is you can short izafe in sorani like turkish and persian: brayí min -to brakam/bram, destí min -to destim, destí to -to destit. but in kurmancí there are no shorting, you only say: desté min, brayé min or xwishka min(my sister).

the -a (feminin) and é(masculin) izafe is not hard to find most of words are feminin. example is: all words with " í " endings are feminin, all verbs are feminine when used as noun. these are from proto-kurdish, zazakí has exactly the same. if i'm not wrong the sorani izafe also changes to -e sometimes in some cases but not for genders.

example from link http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~iranian/Sor ... rammar.pdf:

English /Soraní /Kurmancí:
I invited him/her = Bangim kird = Min bang kir (or Min bang wî/wê kir)
I was invited = Bang kram = Ez hatíbúm bangkirin
I have invited him = Bangim kirdúa = Min bang wí kir.
If you go to Kurdistan, you’ll learn Kurdish. = eger bichíte kurdistan, férí kurdí debí = eger tu chúyí kurdistan, te kurdí fér bibí.

yes, propers answer - afarin - they belong to Northern Kurdistan. but you know what - i dont believe in the firstw two answers. you know why? answer is very simple. now you claim you are "Kurd by heart", once upon you claim you are azeri, then azeriturk (when you were nasty to me and i called you "dirty bastard", remember?), after that you were turk or even "pure" turk. so i dont trust someone who changes his mind so many times and so easy. for the question "which nationalism do you support?", your answer was: "turkish". for the question: "what do you think about PKK?" your answer was: "Think they are terorists." thats also your words:

"Ne mutlu Türk'üm diyene!!!
Biji turkey!
Yes Forever live Turkey!
Atatürk did no war crimes
Atatürk not order any genocides.
The kurds bandits kill alot more ermenians and assyrians than Turks did."

and so on

did you still want to claim you are Kurd by heart? but you know Kurd will never say what you said. If you want to make idiot of Kulka - try, but try it in wise way.

Believe what you want. Im azeri and my parents were born in azerbaijan. I was born and raised in turkey and I no longer live in turkey.
I have been studying things I couldnt there and my thinking has changed because of this.
I didnt mean to be nasty. I thought you attractive and didnt know the way to say it.
I dont support any nationalism. I want freedom and equality for all on earth!
You gave me 3 things to claim myself as and I thought ''kurd by heart''. Im more of a ''earthling by heart''.

thats great if you change your mind, but forgive me, please, if i will not trust you. of course you have the right to love your country, whatever it is - Turkya, Azerbjcan - and nobody here will say any bad word about it. but try to stop yourself from making statements like "The kurds bandits kill alot more ermenians and assyrians than Turks did", because you insult us, while we are not insulting you. you are long enough on this forum to know how kurdish people are. Can you imagine any Kurd on turkish forum to be treated like you are treated here? no chance. if you want to check it - just make fake account, put yourself as Kurd and tell turks what you told us here, the things like:

biji Kurdistan
ne mutlu Kurd diyene
and
Serok apo Ocalan is not terrorist
and
turks bandits kill a lot of innocent people

do that and you will see what they will do with you. you understand what i mean? here you are among civilized people. go to turkish forum and you will see where you will be.

Im not asking you to trust me. I havent made statements like those for a while. I dont want to insult anyone on any forums. Theres enough negativity in the World and I dont want to add more to it now.
