How you call them?
Post pictures in here of Kurdish clothes and mention the names!

Sharwal

What does SAL SEPIK mean? Do they also wear it in Dogubeyazit? And do Kurds also wear Kulah and 'aba's "?Diri wrote:Well no - they're not all called "Ran û Bergûz" - this name only referes to a type of male Kurdish clothes...
Şal û Şepik = Central/Southern Kurdistan: Baggy trousers which narrow at the legs + buttoned jackets and stiff collar.
Şelwar û Êleg = Northern Kurdistan: Baggy trousers with extra fabric between the legs and which are slim-fit from the knees and down to the ankles. A shirt is worn with a vest over it.

Şal = Trausers (don't need to be baggy)
Şepik = Jacket
Şal û Şepik is the most widely used fashion for men in Kurdistan... It is also used in Beg Yezîd ("Dogubeyazit"), yes...
When you say "Kulah" - Do you mean pointy-war-hats? Like the ones which Selaheddîn is reported to have worn?
The Aba' is an Arabic custom - not Kurdish... Some Pîr's (religious leaders, sûfîs etc.) wear them - but they're rooted in religious affiliation to Arabic culture/religion - more than anything else...
