Stabbing at Chatham railway station

Police have confirmed that a teenage boy was stabbed in the back last night.

Officers were called to Chatham station at 6.46pm following reports of an assault.

The youth suffered injuries which are described as "not life threatening".

British Transport Police are investigating the incident.

The bridge at the station was taped off due to the attack, with several officers spotted at the scene.

Rail firm Southeastern tweeted last night: "Because of the police dealing with an incident at Chatham station, the main ticket hall is currently closed. Please enter and exit the station via the side gates."

Trains still stopped at Chatham as normal.

Police were called to Queensway at 3.54pm to reports of a boy who had received stab wounds to his leg.

The youngster was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Although the exact location is still not confirmed, reports on social media have suggested that it happened in the cafe next to Ladbrokes. A member of staff at China Sky Chinese restaurant said: "I only saw police and the man - that is all."

Herts police are still searching for the offender.

Uxbridge stabbing: Man knifed
to death in council offices

An 18-year-old man has been stabbed to death in a west London council's central offices

The victim was stabbed in the chest in Hillingdon Civic Centre on High Street, Uxbridge, at about 16:40 GMT.

He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead less than an hour later. Another teenage boy was also stabbed during the attack.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder, Scotland Yard said.

The other injured teenager suffered a knife injury to his ear, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A Section 60 was put in place, and there have been no arrests.

Two 16 year olds stabbed in Barking

Officers were called to Station Parade shortly before 6pm on Friday, November 1 after receiving reports of a man seen with a knife.

Emergency services attended and they found two teenagers with stab injuries.

Police rushed to the scene on Carisbrooke Road at 6.40pm on Sunday, November 3 along with London Ambulance Service.

They found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a stab injury.

He was taken to hospital with a non life-threatening wound.

Man found dead on side of Ilford road

Police have launched a murder probe after the body of a man in his 50s was found at the side of a road in Ilford.

The investigation comes after police found the man unresponsive on Oaks Lane at just after 6am on Saturday, November 2.

Officers found the man deceased after attending with London Ambulance Service.

A post-mortem held on Sunday at East Ham Mortuary concluded his cause of death was a head injury.

Enquiries are underway to establish the man’s identity and to trace his next of kin.

Teen stabbed in Surbiton

Police were called to Beaufort Road in Surbiton

Officers were called to an incident on Saturday, November 2 at 12.08am after reports of a stabbing on Beaufort Road.

A 19-year-old man was found with stab injuries and rushed to hospital.

His injures are not life threatening.

Diversions were put in place while police dealt with the incident.

In a statement from the Met Police a spokesperson said: "No arrests have been made and officers from the South West Command Unit are investigating."

Woman raped by two men in Greenford park

A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital after police were called to reports she had been raped in Perivale Park.

Officers from the Met Police were called at around 7am on Sunday, November 3 to reports of a woman with injuries on Costons Avenue, Greenford.

Two males have been arrested on suspicion of rape and both remain in custody.

The woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service for treatment and is being supported by specialist officers.

Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.

Two young men stabbed in Shepherd's Bush

Officers from the Met Police were called to Shepherd's Bush on Friday, November 1 after reports of an altercation.

Police arrived on Abdale Road at 7.16pm and found two young men with stab wounds, one aged 21 and the other just 19.

London Ambulance Service rushed both men to a West London hospital.

A crime scene was put in place in Beckenham on Friday, November 1 after a man was found suffering a stab wound.

Police rushed to the scene on Churchfields Road at 8.02pm last night where they found the victim, who was taken to hospital.

No arrests have been made yet.

Man slashed in the head with a knife outside a New Addington café

A man has been rushed to hospital as a "priority" after he was slashed in the head with a knife in New Addington .

Emergency services were called to Central Parade shortly after 4pm on Friday (November to reports of a stabbing.

A man in his 20s was found injured at the scene, Croydon Police confirmed. He was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.

Police say his condition is not life-threatening and no arrests have been made yet in connection with the stabbing.

Witnesses have said the victim was "slashed in the face" by Starburger Café and Restaurant, while the owner of the café has told MyLondon that the man was stabbed just outside but stumbled in, where he was helped and given first aid by staff.

"He came in asking for help and covering his face, which was bleeding," the owner said.

Croydon Police tweeted: "We’re at the scene of a stabbing which happened at 4.05pm in Central Parade, New Addington.

"A man in his 20s is at hospital suffering a slash wound to the head.

"His condition is not life-threatening. and no arrests have been made yet."

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.02pm to reports of a stabbing on Central Parade.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a first responder and a paramedic in a car to the scene.

“We treated a male at the scene and took him to hospital as a priority.”

A witness told MyLondon the knife attacker left the scene in a waiting car.

The witness added that there is a "heavy police presence" on Central Parade following the attack.

Teenager attacked at tram stop

Teenager 'attacked by gang of youths' and mugged by Addington Village tram stop

A teenager was attacked in broad daylight by a gang near a New Addington tram stop.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a robbery by the Addington Village tram stop and interchange on Wednesday (November 6) at 12.59pm.

He told police that as well as being beaten up his mobile phone was stolen.

The victim, aged in his late teens, was found with injuries to his face and was rushed to a South London hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics.

In a statement a Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of a robbery near a New Addington tram stop.

"The victim was taken to a South London hospital by the London Ambulance Service with non life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

"Our enquiries continue."

Croydon stabbing: Man knifed repeatedly on Halloween as attacker remains at large

Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Croydon.

Emergency services were called to Henderson Road, Selhurst at 9.25pm on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) following reports of a stabbing.

A man - whose age has not yet been revealed - was found at the scene suffering from multiple stab wounds.

"He has been taken to hospital where we await an update on his condition," a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said.

"There have been no arrests at this early stage."

The witness - who was out trick or treating with many other young children and their families - said he saw "someone injured" on the floor.

Highest number sent
to jail for weapons

The number of offenders sentenced for possessing a weapon has risen to the highest level in a decade — despite a slump in the overall number of criminals being taken to court, official figures showed today

The Ministry of Justice said that 14,100 offenders in England and Wales had been sentenced during the 12 months to the end of June this year for having a weapon.

This was the highest total since June 2009. The 37 per cent sent straight to prison for their crime was also a bigger proportion than at any other time in the past decade.

But the figures also revealed that the average jail term given to weapons offenders dropped during the same period to its lowest figure in a decade, with an average custodial sentence of 12.2 months.

The statistics will add to the debate about the best ways to deal with rising knife crime and other forms of violence.

The data also revealed a 2 per cent drop in the overall number of people being dealt with by the criminal justice system in England and Wales. This latest decline means that a total of 1.58 million were taken to court across the two nations during the year to the end of June. That is the lowest annual tally since records began and comes despite a 6 per cent increase in crimes recorded by police.

Today’s statistics also show that the proportion of those taken to court who were then given a jail term fell to 6.5 per cent, with 75,800 offenders sentenced to immediate custody — the lowest number since 2009.

The figures follow previous data showing that less than 10 per cent of offences recorded by police result in a prosecution — which led to political controversy about whether reduced resources have made it harder to bring offenders to justice in the courts.

On prosecutions, today’s statistics show that, despite the overall decline in the number of people charged for “violence against the person”, offences rose by 11 per cent. There was a 2 per cent rise in robbery prosecutions and a 5 per cent increase in drug prosecutions.

The MoJ said the increase in prosecutions for violent crimes had been “driven by the recent introduction of legislation on assaults on emergency workers”.

Drill rapper turned
boys into savages

A drill rapper turned ordinary schoolboys into thugs prepared to torture and kidnap in weeks, police said today

Isaac Donkoh, 23 — known as Young Dizz — groomed youngsters with free meals in chicken and bagel shops before encouraging them to torture rivals to protect postcode territory.

How police caught Donkoh — who featured on former BBC DJ Tim Westwood’s YouTube channel — will be shown on BBC1. It comes as police warned about gang grooming.

Detectives had been investigating the rapper’s Beckton-based 6th gang for 10 months when they learned that Donkoh and four teenage accomplices had kidnapped a 16-year-old in August last year.

The boy was ambushed in Barking and dragged into a car. He was punched, had two plastic bags put over his head and was forced to strip naked as Donkoh filmed on his phone and threatened to “cut him up”.

Snaresbrook crown court heard he was tortured for two hours and forced to beg his parents for £1,500. Donkoh, the self-styled “Prince of the 6th” in his E6 postcode, boasted in a music video: “Like how many times have I cheffed [stabbed] him? How’s he still alive, it don’t make sense? It’s kidnap squad at your door. It’s a kidnap, get on the floor.”

Detective Chief Inspector Jim McKee said Donkoh’s syndicate recruited those aged 14 and above “to commit serious violence” then used drill music to espouse crime.

He said that drill music “translates into real violence. It’s not art, it’s espousing and promoting real violence”. Gang members rose up the 6th‘s hierarchy by ripping off drug dealers and meting out violence to senior rivals.

The Met today warned parents to look out for the signs of gang grooming. Detective Sergeant Joe McClenaghan said: “If you watch Donkoh’s videos, he paraded himself as the big man who was in charge. You would see young men flocking around him like a film star.

“He was clever — he would take them for dinner at chicken and bagel shops and treat them if they were bringing money into the gang. He would take them to sit-down restaurants that typically their parents couldn’t afford.

“Isaac had access to a lot of money and could offer the here and now to entice and trap them until they paid him back. Donkoh was able to move them from being young men attending school, football clubs, doing what normal kids do, to very quickly being willing to commit the type of crime they did.” Donkoh admitted conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment, blackmail, causing grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice in April.

He was jailed for 12-and-a-half years. Four teenage co-defendants were sentenced to up to three-and-a-half years each. Westwood has said he does not “condone or encourage violence” and “does not support or promote violent drill music on TimWestwoodTV”.

People with machetes
at Birmingham cinema

A number of police officers have been assaulted after a large brawl broke out at a cinema in Birmingham

Officers were called to reports of people with machetes at Star City, in the Nechells area of the city, shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday.

They found a group of more than 100 people there, and said "pockets of fighting" had broken out.

West Midlands Police confirmed that several arrests had been made and said a dispersal order had been put in place, meaning officers can arrest anyone who refuses to leave when asked.

One eyewitness said that "a young boy was crying on the floor with his mother" as a number of young people started fighting.

Rachael Allison said: "The police told everyone to leave the cinema as they held Taser guns in their hands and started to bring in guard dogs.

"I spoke to a policeman who told me it is unclear whether the kids had weapons and also stated when kids fight they bring their group of friends."

Ms Allison shared a video of the incident on Twitter where officers can be seen tackling the chaos in the cinema lobby.

Another eyewitness described it as "one of the scariest moments of [her] life", as she queued to watch the new Frozen film with her daughter.

Choleigh McGuire said: "Armed police come, Tasers come, all of the people that were fighting ran off into the cinema, hiding. I am shaking."

Quadruple stabbing
in east London

A man has been knifed to death and three others injured in a quadruple stabbing in east London

Police were called to an address in Buckle Street, near Aldgate East Tube station, just before 9am today.

A man, who police said was in his 20s, was found with stab injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other males with stab injuries were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Police are awaiting an update on their condition.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of GBH at the scene. The individuals were escorted separately from Blakeney Tower in handcuffs and taken away in a police van.

A crime scene remains in place and an inside door has been covered in brown paper.

A police forensics team can also be seen inside the lobby near the lifts, and officers have been speaking to people as they enter and exit the building.

Luke Harrison, 29, was walking to the gym when suddenly emergency vehicles came "out of nowhere" to respond to the incident.

"There were police cars coming up the wrong way and then ambulances and undercover police cars pulling up," he said.

"Then police with machine guns got out and headed towards a luxury apartment block.

"People from across the road were looking out on their balconies."

A Met Police spokesman said: "Two people were arrested on suspicion of GBH at the scene and officers from the Specialist Crime Command will be informed."

Machete brawl at
Birmingham cinema

A film about warring gangs has been pulled from nearly 100 cinemas across the UK after a mass brawl involving teenagers armed with machetes in Birmingham on Saturday night

Blue Story, which depicts violent street rivalries in south London, was removed from all 91 Vue Cinemas on Sunday following the riot.

Five teenagers, including a 13-year-old girl, were arrested and seven police officers suffered facial injuries following what the West Midlands force described as a “major outbreak of trouble” involving up to 100 young people.

Footage posted on social media showed officers drawing Tasers to try to get the brawl under control as other cinemagoers screamed and ran, including families with young children who were there to watch Frozen II.

Police later recovered two machetes and a knife from the Star City leisure complex, in the Nechells area of Birmingham. One witness described the brawl as “one of the scariest moments of her life”.

West Midlands police said they were trying to establish what sparked the violence, which started shortly after 5.30pm. A spokesman said the force were aware of the film Blue Story being shown but unable to confirm whether the riot started in a screening.

Vue Cinemas, which runs the venue where the brawl erupted, said on Sunday: “We can confirm a decision was made to remove the film. The safety and welfare of our customers and staff is always our first priority.”

A voice message on Vue’s customer service helpline states: “We regret that we will no longer be screening the film Blue Story at any of our venues.” Vue is the third-biggest cinema chain in Britain, behind Cineworld and Odeon, with 850 screens in the UK and Ireland.

Blue Story, which was released on Friday, is rated 15 for very strong language, strong violence, threat, sex, and drug misuse.

In a statement, the film’s director Andrew Onwubolu, better known as Rapman, said Blue Story was a movie “about love not violence” and that he hoped the blame for the disorder was “placed with the individuals and not an indictment of the film itself”.

He added: “Sending love to all those involved in yesterday’s violence at Star City in Birmingham. It’s truly unfortunate that a small group of people can ruin things for everybody. I pray that we can all learn to live with love and treat each other with tolerance and respect.”

Vue’s decision to pull the film has provoked an outcry on Twitter, where the film was the third most talked about topic on the social media platform on Sunday afternoon. “From what I can see, Vue Cinema’s decision to ban Blue Story from all of their cinemas is at best disproportionate and at worst blatant racism,” said one user called Jonathan.

Odeon cinemas said it was reviewing its position. A spokeswoman said: “We are aware of reports of violence at cinemas which have been linked to the film Blue Story. The safety of our guests and colleagues is our number one priority. We have a number of security measures in place for this film, and are currently reviewing these along with our programming, in order to continue to put the safety of our guests first.”

Onwubolu’s social media page was still promoting Blue Story on Sunday, posting several tweets urging people to go see it before the opening box office weekend closes at midnight.

During the violence on Saturday, a 13-year-old girl, a girl and boy, both aged 14, and a 19-year-old man were arrested for assaulting police. Another 14-year-old boy was held on suspicion of obstructing police.

Supt Ian Green, from Birmingham police, said: “This was a major outbreak of trouble which left families who were just trying to enjoy a night out at the cinema understandably frightened.”

Rachael Allison, who witnessed the brawl, told PA Media: “The police told everyone to leave the cinema as they held Taser guns in their hands and started to bring in guard dogs.

We understand that families with young children will have been left upset by what they saw last night, but we urge people to appreciate that our aim last night was to protect the public and restore order, and that’s what we achieved.

“We’re aware of a number of images and videos circulating on social media which appear to show those involved in last night’s violence. We are assessing those and have already had a number of phone calls from members of the public giving us the names of people they believe were involved last night.”

3 killed in 3 days

Weekend of bloodshed in capital after 3 fatally knifed in under 3 days

3 men were stabbed to death in separate incidents across London during another weekend of fatal knife violence in the capital.

A 26-year-old was found stabbed to death in a car after a traffic collision in Ealing.

A 27-year-old man was also knifed to death at a house party in Whitechapel while a third man, 24, died after he was stabbed during a fight in Ilford.

Murder detectives believe the 26-year-old was wounded in an altercation 100 metres away from West Ealing railway station before crashing his car and are not treating the incident as a "road rage" attack.

Detectives believe the victim was injured before his vehicle was involved in a collision with another car.

Ruth Holmstock, 72, whose flat overlooks the scene of the crash, said she heard a single "thump".

"It was one of those 'oh f***' sort of crunches," she said. "The sort of noise you make when you reverse into a gate, but it was loud enough to make me go and see what it was.

"There were a lot of people hanging around. It looked like any other crash, like they were swapping insurance details."

Police were called shortly before 1.20am on Sunday and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after he was found in a car suffering from a stab wound.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: "We believe the victim was involved in an altercation 100 metres from the railway station on The Avenue.

"This is a busy street with a number of shops and restaurants and if anybody was in the area and saw something, no matter how small, I would urge them to contact police."

Ms Holmstock said she saw five police cars, along with an ambulance and other medics' vehicles.

She said there was no sign of any injuries at first and police had removed someone from the car.

"I would never have dreamt that there was anyone injured," she continued. There was nothing to see. I was really surprised when the police got here.

The victim has not been formally identified, but Scotland Yard said his family have been told.

Man fighting for life after being knifed in west London

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in west London.

Police were called at 3.34am today to reports of an incident in Station Road, Hayes.

Officers and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended and found a man, no other details, suffering from knife injuries.

A Met Police spokeswoman said the victim was taken to a west London hospital "where his injuries were deemed life-threatening".

"We await further updates," she said.

"A crime scene remains in place and no arrests have been made."

A 14-year-old boy was knocked off a moped and then stabbed to death by a rival gang in a "violent and frenzied" attack, a court has heard



Jaden Moodie was allegedly dealing drugs for a gang when he was targeted by a group of five men on 8 January.

Ayoub Majdouline was in a stolen Mercedes which was driven at Jaden, causing him to be "catapulted" over the bonnet, the Old Bailey heard.

Mr Majdouline, 19 and of London, denies murder and possession of a knife.

Prosecutor Oliver Glasgow QC told jurors the five men in the car had armed themselves with knives and had gone to "great lengths" to hide their faces.

"On finding Jaden Moodie, the Mercedes drove straight towards the moped, swerving onto the same side of the road so that it struck Jaden Moodie head on," he said.

He told the court the victim "did not stand a chance" and his crash helmet had come off when he was struck.

Three men then got out of the car and "repeatedly" stabbed the 14-year-old in a "violent and frenzied attack", as he lay "defenceless and seriously injured" on the ground, the court was told.

"Fourteen seconds was all it took," Mr Glasgow added.

Jaden was found with nine stab wounds and bled to death in the road, the jury heard.

'Petty rivalries'

Members of the victim's family gasped and cried out as CCTV footage of the attack was played to the jury.

The prosecutor said the images showed the killers had "no qualms about playing out their petty rivalries using the blade of a knife".

The Mercedes was abandoned in a quiet cul-de-sac, while a knife and a pair of yellow rubber gloves were thrown away and recovered from a nearby drain the next day, the court was told.

Mr Glasgow said the 14-year-old's blood and traces of the defendant's DNA were found on both.

Burnt clothing belonging to Jaden's attackers was also found in a churchyard, the court was told.

Mr Majdouline disputes playing any part in the attack.
