Daily notebook from Duhok 2016

This is where you can talk about every subject (previously it was called shout room)

After the charger of my Macbook died, I was quite far from Internet, because surfing with an iPad is not so easy, except on social networks.

But in the Family Mall in Duhok, I found today a shop Digital City where they sell all Apple stuff. Great.

Apparently on the world wild web, everybody believes that France banned burkini, while it is only in 3 cities, after a decision of 3 mayors. Mayors have that power in France, and the government has nothing to say if it is not anti constitutional. And it is not : some mayors banned some years ago bath suits out of beach, in city streets or in shops, or shirtless for men.

The same week, a French mayor banned Pokemon go in his city and threatened to charge the companies  But less people talk about that, though it is funnier.

Considering the burkini my opinion is that women who wear it willingly are just "connasses" as we say in France. But on a beach there is no rule for swimming or bathing so it is not a good idea to forbid it. How policemen will distinguish burkini-women to frogwomen ?

If burkini is banned in swimming pool that's normal. For hygienic reasons, you can't swim with long clothes, like bermuda for men.

I wonder what Kurds think about that burkini fashion. Until now I don't think it exists in Kurdistan but I did not go to lakes or even in a swimming-pool (i guess they are not mixed).

Summer is good in Duhok, slowly less hot. I heard the first mosquito this night : autumn will be there in one month.

The kitten is full of energy and begins to go out in the garden with the mum. This morning she jumped happily in the lawn… with a big plouf ! because the gardener irrigated all the night and under the grass it was like a small pool.

So she ran inside the house as a wet duckling

BLESS :x

That must have been so funny to watch =))

I have a lakes near me so I sometimes have mosquito trying to get in

But I have strips of velcro round my window frames holding netting over the windows so that NO mosquitoes can come in that way and nets over the doors

Citronella oil in burners or candles also help to deter them

You should be able to leave lose net for cats to go through as mosquito never seem to fly close to the ground :D

What would your name and title be if you lived in the time of Jane Austen's Society? Hard to do with French names, we have no middle initial.

I never knew that before :-?

So you only have a first name and a last name - it is not uncommon for British people to have several names :D

I have 3 'prénoms' as many French, but contrary to American, we never tell the 2nd and the 3rd and we never use them. It is only for official papers, when we have to write our complete identity.

Most of French ppl are ashamed of their 2nd and 3rd names. Why ? Because traditionally, especially if you are the leder of children, you inherit of your 2 grand-fathers or grand-mothers' names. So horrible unfashionable names ! =)) =))

We never reveal our 2 and 3 names :D

But now this tradition is disappearing, I think. Parents chose one first name, which is not so good because if you have a common first name and a common family name, you can be misidentified for administrations.

The kitten is ok and thinks she is a ferocious hunter when her Mum brings her mouses or birds' bodies to play. Each morning when I get up I find a corpse, sometimes 2 corpses.

This morning, a pigeon and a parakeet.

UK second and third names are sometimes relations names but more often than not, it will be due to the wife preferring one name and the husband another name

Also, it is common for children/young people to prefer their second or third name and use them rather than their first name

As in many Anglo-Indian families, I have and English name and an Indian name :D

A student is ready to adopt her. So she might leave the house next Sunday

As the mother is able to make 4 other kittens in 2 months, it is wiser to find a family for this one. The next time I might not have any people ready to adopt.

You will have to take another lovely long video of here because she is so sweet :x

Did you try the wild carrot seeds on the mother?

The kitten is gone. A young student has just taken her. He waited it for a long time.

I hope she will be ok. But I will see the boy every day when the school will start (next week) and I told if there is any problem, he tells me.

As he wants to vaccinate her, I think he will care of her. And if he finds a good vet I will ask the address for the mother.

But this evening and night will be sad : Pirouette does not know she is gone, she is not here now. When she comes back, she will CRY and CALL and SEEK everywhere. :((

So depressing

It will break her little heart =((

Most animals cry when their young are taken away :((

One of the reasons I cannot eat red meat - I have seen cows cry :((

I did try to warn you because YOU are the one who will cry the most =((

I hope you managed to get some sleep and your poor little cat has not kept you awake all night searching for her baby :-s

It might take a few days for her to stop bringing half-dead animals into your home for her baby to practise on

She will probably hope/expert her baby to turn up/come back =((
