Since 1940 we are living with German hour (GMT +1) in winter and since 1976, with Turkish hour (GMT + 2).

But as Turkey has also its summer time, we are still separated.

By the way I learned a funny news : because of elections, Turkey decided to adopt its summer only tomorrow and not today. Well in France, we have also our elections and we have changed last night without trouble. But apparently, Turks are not able to do BOTH things the same day

Thursday ? Weird. We do it sunday because people are not working, so there are less abstentions. And many are registered far from their current location so they have to move.
