How to bypass laptop battery charging all the time it is con

PostAuthor: batteryv6 » Mon May 27, 2013 7:36 am

Hello folks! I need some guidance. I have a Compaq 610 laptop. My first battery went off within 16 months of purchase. Laptop batteries are pretty expensive (though I've afforded a new original battery). If i can work on my laptop bypassing the battery charging, that'll probably help to extend its life I think. My laptop works almost 10 hours a day on an average. I have heard laptop battery charging can be temporarily bypassed in HP/Compaq laptops. Any idea? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Keep the old battery in the laptop when you want to use the wall power outlet and replace it with the new one in only when you need to charge it and us the battery power, maybe that will work B-)

Some laptops have a battery calibration feature in the BIOS settings menu :D

If you are using Microsoft suggest you try:

Control Panel
Performance and Maintenance
Power Options
change the Power Scheme to Always On
change the Running on Batteries settings to all say Never and click on OK

I will be honest I am not sure about this but there should be something in the control panel
