I use several programs to keep me secure online including:
Netcraft:
The Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar consists of a user interface implemented as a toolbar (a small extension that plugs into the Mozilla Firefox Browser) and central servers, able to respond quickly to large numbers of requests as each user moves around the web. The central servers are managed by Netcraft and hold the information about URLs and sites provided by the the Toolbar community and Netcraft.
Ghostery:
Ghostery is your window into the invisible web – tags, web bugs, pixels and beacons that are included on web pages in order to get an idea of your online behaviour.
Ghostery tracks and blocks over 1,200 trackers and gives you a roll-call of the ad networks, behavioral data providers, web publishers, and other companies interested in your activity.
NoScript:
NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java, Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank). If you do not allow something to come in it cannot come.
NoScript also provides the most powerful anti-XSS and anti-Clickjacking protection ever available in a browser. It has unique whitelist based pre-emptive script blocking approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and even not known yet!) with no loss of functionality.
ClamTk Virus Scanner:
ClamTk is a GUI front-end for ClamAV using gtk2-perl. It is designed to be an easy-to-use, on-demand scanner for Linux systems.
Firestarter:
Firestarter is an Open Source visual firewall program. The software aims to combine ease of use with powerful features, therefore serving both Linux desktop users and system administrators.
This is a high level security program.
