hello there everyone...cani...

i 've just been for my five month scan...the baby is beautiful and healthy...and a little girl! so i have begun looking at just a few names. i suppose my search will go on for a while. would anyone be kind enough to tell me the meanings of the female Kurdish names Meryem and Karo?

also, are there any names which you might find particularly in the part of Kurdistan where badini is spoken?

hello. congratulations. i had my scan yesterday. my baby is healthy and is a boy. i am 17 weeks. did you know you could have found out babys sex as early as 16 weeks? i am glad did not have to wait to 20 weeks cause i do not have much patience.
meryem is not only kurdish name and meryem is name of mother of the prophet isa.(a.s.)
i am thinking of names too. my spouse mehmet likes ahmet and zafer. i like sercan... i think we will wait until baby is born to finally decide on his name.
sorry,i do not know of any particular badini names.

hello...and congratulations to you too! when you say that meryem is not only a kurdish name, do you mean that it is also an arabic name? and...when you say that meryem was the mother of the prophet isa and you put in brackets (a.s.), what does 'a.s.' stand for?

meryem is also a turkish name. it is usually spelled in arabic and persian maryam, sometimes mariam, but in morocco arabic it is spelled meryem too.
a.s is aleyhisselam, peace be upon him.
