what? is kurdish widely spoken in Turkey? are you kidding? kurdish city administrations are arrested because unofficially use of kurdish. I dont live in Amed but i can say that almost all speak kurdish exklusive police, statemen. even ZAZAKI speakers have 3. biggest population among all kurds, while other dialects in south are forgotten for persian or arabic and sorani in central kurdistan.

wrong! The Q Sound is not originally Kurdish but developed among Kurds when they came in contact with Syriac influence or Islamiszation. This was also the Case among Turks before There was a "modification of there language. It is much a sound Change and not specific for some words. LIke one User did mentioned. Kurds and Turks from Southwest, Central Anatolia do change the original K sounds into Q because of the accentric change.

Indo European languages did not know the semitic Q sound. You see it on old iranic words like Kahraman/Karaman what is a word with the Meaning Hero. I have seen many Kurds especially those living in Regions with Semitic (mostly Syriac less Arabs) minorities talking like this. They change many K sounds into Q. As Example Kamra/Kamera into qamera/qemere or Ankara to Anqere . This is obviously not normal and has nothing to do with being "originally kurdish.

The H sound out of your Throat is also due semitic contact on our cultural and religious live. I only see old People using this H.

aha ok.. by the way I asked this other brother too.. do you talk Kurdish a lot? because I have heard from people who have been to Diyarbakir and other Kurdish cities that it doesn't even feel Kurdish because they all talk to you in Turkish. Is that so? If I walk up to you in Turkey what language would you automatically use? Kurdish or Turkish?

No, I don't 'talk Kurdish a lot'. I'm actualy not a Türk or Kurd. I was born and raised in Ulaanbaatar, MN. Anyway, I lived in İstanbul for around a year 1/2 though. Also visited Mersin, Osmaniye (The Türks are realy happy there ) , Samsun, İzmir, Ankara etc... I've also heard that the Kurds mostly don't speak Kurdish in Northern Kurdistan, but I've never been to Diyarbakır (Amed) or any place in Northern Kurdistan, unfortunately. I would speak in Türkçe to ya. Hey ocmentos, Nasılsın?...

I meant that even zazaki who is spoken by northern kurdistani kurds are 3. most spoken kurdish language, while the other southern dialects are almost gone and replaced persian or arabic (feyli, kermanshahi...). of course kurdish is spoken in north kurdistan (exclusive some western provinces).

well that is true Iranian Kurds are totally losing their language to Persian. but I don't know about Arabic :S because Kurdish can mix and dissimulate in persian because they have similar grammar and vocabulary but it is not possible for Arabic and Turkish. Either you totally forget the Kurdish but to mix Arabic and Kurdish is not possible

hey yeh obviously you can mix vocabulary from Arabic to Kurdish.. sorry I didn't mean that.. but I meant Kurdish gradually can become more and more similar to persian. like the Kermashani accent is very close to Persian, grammaticaly and vocaly, it will be so close that it will just become a dialect of Persian.. but no matter how much more Arabic words you put in Kurdish, it could never be a dialect of Arabic because they have to different origins. and by the way the reason you have Arabic words is also because persian has a LOT of arabic words, which you adopt thinking its Farsi. anyways whatever it is, Farsi or Arabic, you should start cleaning your language and start using our made-up Kurdish words

good point, it's really sad that it isn't Kurdish anymore. you should be aware too, because believe me to us your accent sounds too much like Farsi. Namawet awash basar Sinaya bet.. w dillnyashim nabet. ballam har abe agamam la zman bet.

Sine will never be persian because city have a massive nationalism .but Kirmansha , even when it was Kurdish, had not nationalism .
and the other reason for being persian is their religion . they are Shia .

no . they don't speak Sorany . they speak kelhuri . but maybe that Kirmanshahi guy speak in sorani when he sees every one there are sorani !

in semsur(adiyaman) and half of riha(urfa) people are hanafi-sunni, malati, marash kurds are alevi-shia. and why are most kurds shafi, when all neighbours are shia and hanafi.
