Roojin wrote:Sîver, thank you for the warm welcome! I actually have my first question: How do I pronounce your name? Does it rhyme with a similar word in English or Farsi?

hey there,
i guess my name Siver [Seever] pronounced like healer ? [ S instead of H , V instead of R] .. probably someone else can tell you another example better than mine.
plus
the origin of this name is Sèvres, beautiful city next to Paris as i guess
and in 1920 there was a Treaty called Treaty Of Sèvres, in that treaty Kurds been promised to have their own state
but we Kurds using its Kurdish version which is Siver or Seever
and its uni-sex name among Kurds as well

Thanks Dyaoko. To be honest, I'm not sure where Sena is. My parents are from Kermanshah, but my grand-parents are Kalhor Kurds.

Ah, thank you matin!
Well, Kermanshah is rather close to Sanadaj, so you were pretty close Dyaoko.
