Here are some photos of Bab Al Sheikh I took, where the majority of Kurds in Baghdad live. By the way the narrow streets you see, are typical of all of the area, so put that in your head and times it by 100 or so.

What I dont understand, while thousands of Arabs would give everything to live in Kurdistan, why do your relatives who are Kurds still "insist" in living in Baghdad?

I can't really explain much currently, but will do later. I will say this though. The Kurds in Baghdad do not want to stay there, and as I've stated before the sitaution is much more complex then it seems. Kurds here have had property since around 80 to 90 years ago, through inheritance I mean. I would like them to move to Kahanqin and Mandali, though i really don't know. I have alot of family in Hawler and other parts of SK, just so you don't think its only Baghdad. I know I haven't really answered your question, because I'm not really a spokesmen for the Kurds in Baghdad. Believe it or not there is so much discrimination by our shia arab "friends" that it is hard to make any progess. There is so much corruption, and to tell you the truth if your not part of the Dawa or those shia parties, you can't get anything done.
In my personal opinion its not the fault of the Kurds in Baghdad, but my great grand parents that made the mistake after WW1 from Ilam,Kirmanshan and west Luristan coming to Baghdad.
Do you know just today the central government shut down the Kurdish centers here? Its basically what Turkey used/still do.
