A fresh out of prison Philippe, crosses paths with Avdal, a Kurd who is trying to track down an Iraqi war criminal. Avdal dreams of staying in France and awaits his fiancée Siba. The two men strike up a friendship and when Avdal suddenly dies, Philippe finds himself organizing the funeral. When Siba arrives in Paris, she meets Philippe, learns of Avdal's death, and is taken in by a group of Kurdish men. Meanwhile, Avdal's father, a devout Muslim, arrives in Paris to grieve for his son. He wants Siba to return, but the young woman has tasted freedom..

Yes finally, we need those kind of movies to be created. Anyway, is that actor at 1.12 kurdish? I think i have seen him in many turkish drama's.

The actor you could see sitting next to the iranian actress on the bed is the kurdish comedian Özz Nujen, he lives in Sweden.

And where is your proof? I hope you are right but I sort of know that you are worng. She is one of the most famous iranian actresses and has played in many international movies.

Golshifteh Farahani Kurdish? I greatly doubt that; I'm quite sure she's ethnically Persian.
Though, this is what her imdb profile says:
Fluent in English, French and Persian. Some knowledge of Arabic and Kurdish.
Many people in Teheran (where she was born) have multiple ethnic backgrounds; perhaps she has a Kurdish grandparent or something? Would explain her (limited) knowledge of Kurdish.
In any case, great and beautiful actress.

she is totaly persian, and she is very famous and very sucessful perisan actress, she ran away from Iran a few years ago,
even if you I didnt know her name, I could tell by her accent, if you pay attention she has a persian accent in saying kurdish words, "Nagarremewe" her "R" is so persian
it is very good , I am happy to see this movie. both for kurdistan and also for Golshifteh that she is back in movies after a few years of silence.
btw she also made lots of news by showing her boob for a french announcment about freedom of thinking.

Now some people might say "It is just a boob" yes this is the case for us who have grown up with it but this is one of the cases I mean when I say Iranian=Slutty. You would expect at least a bit conservatism in a person for whom it was pretty normal and daily basis to live very conservative.
People falling from one extreme into another have usually a weak personality. This is not a sign of strength.
The only thing left for her to do is a Porn, than she can truly call herself an Exil-Iranian

I don't know what to say to that , but that nude thing was a symoblism act about freedom ...afterall it is her body , she has the right to do whatever she wants to do with it, it is not for us to judge her .

I'm still not sure what to think of it.
She did it for the right reason, but really, is there no other way to advocate womens' rights?
She's a role model for millions, pretty much every Iranian girl looks up to her, does she really want to give them the idea that it's ok to go nude to get your point across?
Then again, people shouldn't act to childish either; it's just a human (female) body, nothing sinful about it.

I watched the movie yesterday and it was not bad , but it is a it is also about women rights mixed with feminism where the entire cast of men in the movie are just dump and backward or weak while she emerge as the strong one , the educated one ,the bright one , the talented one and so on .
