What is the feeling in Duhok - do people fear Iraq might not stop at Kirkuk but go further into Kurdistan?

Duhok celebrated by night the uprising in Khanaqin. Now it is quiet.

In a world that humans make so ugly, living with animals is pure happiness.

Papillon missed to play and sleep with his poor sister, but now, he enjoys his little brother. And the orphan is delighted to have a big brother :

A kitten which is less than 3 months is not allowed to enter in EU.

So if Iraqis invade Kurdistan and if France organise an emergency return of its citizens, I could expect to take Pirouette and Papillon with me (even if I have no time for their blood test) but certainly not taking the tiny one with me… or secretly.

I might also refuse to leave Kurdistan :-D

Are the people there afraid Iraqis will invade Duhok?

I think that Erbil is more worried. But if they invade Erbil, Duhok will be attacked soon.

Kurdistan has been far to generous in allowing so many Arabs to take refuge there :-s

I know that there has been a great deal of tension, especially in Erbil, due to the large numbers of Arabs

Feelings have been running high for some time, especially among the younger generations who think that the Arabs should be thrown out of Kurdistan

Seems they have now been proved correct - sadly Kurdistan is far to helpful for it's own good X(

The tension between Kurds and Arabs inside Kurdistan may well turn into violence as the youth now want to remove their unwelcome guests :(

In fact, most of Arab refugees in Kurdistan are sunnis, from cities like Fallujah or other places. They feel also threatened by Shiites and many support the referendum, because they hope to have their own Region one day, as Kurds.

There is more hate between Sunni and Shiite Arabs than between Kurds and Arabs.

Poor Fallujah :((

Iraq is made up of land stolen from 3 separate empires and it will have to be divided into 3 as it has proved MANY times that it is totally unable to unite :ymdevil:

How is life under the bed in Duhok?

Do you feel safer now the fighting seems to have calmed down?

How is your family - has it grown any larger :D

Papillon is full of energy and very handsome.

The little orphan is ok, eating and playing a lot with Papillon. Both sleep in my bed (on my pillow for Papillon).

Pirouette now dislikes her son and comes only for eating and leaves immediately. Yesterday, she entered by night for eating. I did not see her since Friday evening. I hope she will come back soon because I need to call the vet for their blood test.

I hope she will accept to share the house with Papillon, after some adaptation period.

Cats are very complicated creatures… One problem is resolved, another one is growing.

Why has Pirouette turned against her own son - do you think she has become jealous of Papillon, and the kitten?

I notice that you do not call the kitten by name - do you still intend for someone else to adopt it - I think not :D

That's a natural reaction from a mother cat : when the kitten is 4 months old, she sees it as an adult and expels it from her place.

Now Papillon is only a male intruder and she has to affirm her place as a female dominant.

For that reason the little one is less disturbing.

About him, I can't bring a kitten in EU if he is under 3 months. Nowadays the situation in Kurdistan is so unstable that I don't know where I will be in 3 months.

And remember that if I have to come back in France, I live in a flat of 26 m 2…
