I open a thread for natural remedy, so everybody could post to give their own recipes against various diseases.

I thought my cough was an allergy but in trains everybody are coughing like me so I suppose my burning throat and eyes and my sneezing nose are not the fault of birches and other trees…

What are your usual good old magic against flu or hay fever ? I use to melt honey, lemon, thyme, rhum and drink the potion. I eat also sorbet to appease a painful throat.

Seems to be efficient. Perhaps the rhum I added to my grog was the best part, also ;)

Most of the time I get advance warning of getting flu from my dream. After that If I started sneezing that would confirm it. To stop it I take one of the remedies available in grocery shops.

There is nothing strange for my advance warning in my dreams. We get flus because of virus infections. These viruses enter our body from outside. When they enter our body our immune system recognise them and goes into operation to fight them. This immune system new activity alerts brain as a threat has entered the body. After that your brain sends you alerts in many ways, one of which is our dreams. Each one of us may see this dream alerts differently and can recognise it only by experience. In my case the dream is in the shape of muddy waters and rivers, into which I fell against my will. No matter how hard I try to avoid it but I can not, I always fall into the muddy water. Now I even know it is a dream when it happens, so it doesn't bother me a lot.

It is called a 'lucid dream', I had some, but never for warning me about a flu, very interesting and useful : at least you can make prevention by curing you right before the illness.

Fortunately I only had flu once and hope to never have it again

We were all very ill for more than 2 weeks and he came to look after us bringing us medicine and fruit

Yet when he was gone none of us could remember what he looked like

All 20 of us saw him differently - work that one out ;)

Well if they could eat fruits and medicines the mysterious man brought, it was not a total hallucination. :-D

Anthea : did you EAT the fruits or you just remembered the visit and then all was gone ?

If yes, I guess that Muslims would have seen someone like Khidr, Christians saw angels, Hindus thought it was Krishna :D

Every one should have the same experience, a dream warning of becoming ill. But not every one thinks to associate the disease to the dream when they become ill.

Do you have other dreams foretelling the onset of different diseases ?

But do you remember real thing he brought ? like fruits, drugs, etc.

Or was it just spiritual meals ? Then you have been served by angels, like Jesus in desert :))

I think we have lucid dreams concerning important things for our own safety. Our mind makes a choice in that sense. Londoner wrote about kidney troubles and blood pressure. etc. So he has to watch his health so his dreams are like weather broadcast about it.

The last night I dreamed I drank too much rhum and iI had to vomit. But my swollen throat blocked everything and I wake as trying to expulse something. Then awake, I realize I didn't want to vomit anything but my throat was dried and sored because of the illness and I have to drink (WATER :D ).

OK so if the chemist was not ill himself, he did not have fever hallucination.

So you was served by 1/ an little green man from another planet 2/ a guardian angel 3/ one of the Fourty (if you do not know who you are all is explained in my novel La Rose de Djam :p )

in any case it was great and it is a sign that you are blessed and protected by the Hierarchy Above Our Heads. :D
