In old times, Kuds just rapted Christian or Jewish girl and that was enough.

Well if you are well-off every opposite sex will be ready to become your partner. So there is nothing strange if some desperate lady married your ex-brother to get some help for her family. I think in Kurdistan still you have to buy your bride. about 10 to 15 years ago I paid two of my unmarried brothers to find wives.

Each one of my brothers asked for £1250.00 Precisely. That was I am sure before the liberation of Iraq. But Now I hear horror stories. Girls now have more freedom than before. Now they put the price by themselves, not their parents. If you don't have a new Mercedes German car and go to ask her hand she will set dogs on you.

Well, that is the established culture. Whoever born in it accepts it as some thing natural. Each side, the male or female, seeks one thing only, which is to mate and produce children. Modern cultural equality between both sexes needs at least another new generation to complete. New female generation in Kurdistan now has more freedom and can choose partners but because they are the product of last deprived generation, they have become materialistic. They don't know the western romantic niceties. If you have a fat pocket they all run after you to get you and marry you. Contrary to that, they set dogs on you.

Well, let nature takes its course. You can not eradicate an established culture in a year or two, you need generations.
