I can't read Arabic (just with google translator), but if he got a prize he deserves it.

We worked together in winter 2000 when I translated Mem û Zîn with Akif Hasan. We compared our work with his own translation in Arabic, he gave me clues for a good understanding of Xanî and I gave him also.

Damascus Magazine announced the winners of thought and creativity for 2013 issued by the Damascus magazine, it worth three thousand dollars
which will be distributed at a special ceremony. probably in one of the refugee camps.

it has been noted that the writer Salama Killa has got award called: the

Damascus intellectual Book Award for his book (fates of inclusiveness – Syria

in the process of revolution)

The other writer Rateb Chaabo,too has awarded, Damascus diary Literature award for his book (the calendar of the imprisoned – the biography of Syria)

Whereas the Oriental book award was for the Kurdish novelist and translator Jan Dost for his book (a selection of contemporary Kurdish story wich is expected to be released soon
It is notable that the writer Jan Dost has gotten the award of the Kurdish short story in Syria, in 1993, and the Poetry Prize in 2012 which is granted by the Association of Kurds writers and journalists in Syria
أعلنت مجلة دمشق عن الفائزين بجائزة الفكر والإبداع لعام 2013 التي تصدرها مجلة دمشق وقيمتها ثلاثة آلاف دولار، حيث ستوزع الجوائز في حفل خاص ربما في إحدى مخيمات اللجوء.

وقد حصل المفكر سلامة كيلة عن كتابه (مصائر الشمولية-سورية في صيرورة الثورة) على جائزة جاءت تحت عنوان: جائزة دمشق للكتاب الفكري. أما الكاتب راتب شعبو فقد حصل على جائزة دمشق لأدب اليوميات عن كتابه (روزنامة المسجون-سيرة سورية)، فيما ذهبت جائزة الكتاب الشرقي للروائي والمترجم الكردي جان دوست عن كتابه (مختارات من القصة الكردية المعاصرة). ومن المتوقع أن تصدر الكتب في وقت قريب.

ومن الجدير بالذكر أن الكاتب جان دوست حصل عام 1993 على جائزة القصة الكردية القصيرة في سوريا، وعلى جائزة الشعر عام 2012 والتي منحتها رابطة الكتاب والصحفيين الكرد في سوريا.
