Kurdish Women

Hello,

Next year I will go to Kurdistan for a long time, I will stay in Sulaymaniyah, or maybe Duhok.
I have always been interrested in the middle east and I might want to live there.

But my question is: is there any chance I can marry a Kurdish woman?

Or is it impossible because I am not Kurdish myself?
( BTW I am Muslim )

Thankyou for your reply,
Originally I am from Spain, Sevilla.
I speak Spanish and English and before I will go to Kurdistan I will
try to learn some Kurdish.
I dont know that much about Kurdish people but I do know that they can be
very strict in relationsships with non-kurdish people, especially when the
woman is Kurdish.
Is this true?

Then I hope there will be people that are more modern in the place where I will go.
So I do have a chance to find a woman there?
And in Kurdish culture how do most man find a woman these days?

Yes I converted to Islam.

Most girls still marry relations. Kurds like to keep marriage within the extended family, also they like to know the man's family background.

Marriage is not so much arranged in less conservative parts of Kurdistan as suggested. Families with unmarried sons keep visiting until the girl picks one just to escape from family pressure :))

Her parents have to except you. I would not suggest that you try a Muslim marriage site.

If a girl's family have not managed to secure a good husband for their daughter then there is often a VERY good reason :ymdevil:

ohhh you are spanish?
Marry me? :)) :-*

However,I don't care about religions (I am atheist) and if you met kurdish girls here in finland it would not be such a problem to marry them.
But maybe back in kurdistan women still have to marry kurdish men which is somehow sad. I love mixing :x

I would only marry a Kurd to be honest. Others are free to do as they please.

If you are a friend of Kurds and show your interest in Kurdish people, you will have it easier to find a Kurdish girl and her family to accept you, and if you are muslim yourself it will be much easier.

I think you will have in Sulaymaniyah better chances to meet a Kurdish woman to marry than in Duhok.

Haha would be great :-* :))

So for you it won't be a problem to be in a relationship with somone that is not Kurdish, but what would you family
say about it?
You are right, people should be free to choose a partner, not only of their own culture.

As I can see there are very diffrent opinions about this subject

Well honey, for my family it won't be any problem either.I have had finnish boyfriends before and they did not have any problem with that.
and about this subject yes,it depends what kind of people they are- Are they conservative? religous? liberal?
it depends from person to person so it's hard to say :)
