Hi all,
I`m a Turkish woman dating a Kurdish man. What do people here think about such relationships?

As you see, they dont give a damn about it

me too as far as the children are going to speak and think democratic and not pro fascism. Unfortunately such relationships in the past ended up the children being more Turkish than Kurdish this is why I generally am not a supporter of Kurdish-Turkish, Kurdish-Iranian or Kurdish-Arab relationships however I am fine with it as long as the children respect their Kurdish origin.

That may be the case in Turkish man-Kurdish woman relationships, but from what I see there are much more Turkish woman-Kurdish man relationships.

As long as there is love and mutual respect I think everything is possible .

Sorry, but i don't believe is such a relationship! I'm just gonna say my opinion, even if it's hard to hear: Turks have opressed kurds for almost a century now and denied us our homeland (The one we have lived on for many thousands of years before turks showed up) They have killed a half million of us, tried to make us forget our past and accept turkish identity (Mountain turk) Has arrested thousands of kurds for no reason at all, taking away our basic human rights and calling PKK terrorists, while Hamas is apparently freedom fighters!

Now if both of you wanna do this, then go ahead, I can't stop you.

I`m sorry about that too but it`s not me who is responsible for that. I don`t know where you live, but there are many Turkish women here who date Kurdish men. And generally, children get most of their identity from the father.

It's true that not all turks are the same, but in my school here in Denmark i know two half turkish and half kurdish girls, and they both consider themselves as proud turks with a great hate to kurds

Sadly that's untrue, I have many relatives who are married to persians and none of them know kurdish, even if they live abroad like countries like Sweden. And it doesn't matter if the father is kurd because they still learn persian anyway. If there would be more people like you then the situation would have been much better when it comes to kurds marriyng turks, persians( I don't know about arabs). But to be honest I also belive it's the kurds fault for not aswell encouraging their own children to learn kurdish.

Thats my point even if not with hate and even if the father is Kurdish even today it can happen that the Kid lives more turkish and considers himself as such an is against the Kurdish movements.

Well if you are dating a Kurdish man, then good luck with the relationship. Personally however I am opposed to all forms of mixing with other ethnicities, I'm just an ethnic tribalist, but thats just my opinion. I doubt you value it anyway.
