Oh i feel for you so much --
I am in USA and have a kurdish bf too - We met online and have been talking for 2.5 years.
We were planning to meet (like last month!) but his brother found out about everything and
told the father.
My bf was willing to stand up against his father, and in fact they did. But very quickly this
became an issue between the whole family - relatives included. My bf has been saving thousands of dollars
for our meeting and the family had pressured him last summer to know what he was doing with his
money. They wanted to borrow it. He lent his father this money. He tried to get his money back
before his brother told his father but - the father will not let him have the money back until he
has a kurdish wife! And he went a little crazy because this has been an ongoing fight for about
1 month - he is so stressed out - my poor love - his mother is on my bf side and told the father he should
give him back his money and let him choose and the father was so angry when she said that - that he told her
if his son marries "that girl " (me) then she will no longer be his wife!
We are trying to figure out some options but right now im just heart broken and beside myself - he called me and nearly couldn't speak he was crying so hard
I love him very much - I wish you all the best of luck too - it takes 2 strong ppl to do an international relationship - especially when culture clashes are unavoidable.
We need 4 things to live .. food clothing water and love .. we don't let someone tell us what to eat or wear - we don't drink dirty water - why should we let anyone choose
who we should love? Just a thought..
