Every hour the situation in Iraq is worsening.
As you read this people are dying.
The terrorist militias of the Islamic State runs amok with unspeakable violence. People are being beheaded or buried alive, and to this day, more than a thousand women and girls have been abducted, forcibly married, sold as slaves or given as booty to the terrorists.
More than 150,000 Yazidis, Christians, and other minorities, have fled in panic to the Kurdish Region of Iraq, most on foot.
Many thousands of Yezidis are still trapped in the mountain of Shingal by the terrorist fighters of the Islamic State and are dying of hunger and thirst in temperatures as high as 50c.

Bishop Rabban Al Qas, founder of the International School of Duhok, in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which last year received the Aachen Peace Prize, is organising the supply of essentials to more than 3,000 displaced families (approximately 15,000 people) in Duhok, who deprived of everything now urgently require: shelter, medicine, food, water, clothing, blankets, mattresses, hygiene items such as soap and shampoo - in their flight they could take practically nothing with them, often escaping with only the clothes they were wearing.
Worst of all - they have lost contact with family members and friends, not knowing if they managed to escape, if they are still alive, or if they have been slaughtered or died on the arid mountainside.
Within days, Mgr Rabban has mobilized volunteer helpers, even in the smallest villages; volunteer students from the prize winning International School also joined in to help the refugees. But sadly, their need is far too great and the challenge is huge for the Kurdistan Region.
Many hundreds of thousands of innocent people have lost everything, their homes and belongings have all been destroyed, their wheat fields have been burnt and livestock stolen.
Urgent external financial support is needed. Your help can alleviate untold sufferings and help to save lives.
