Free and Democratic Alevi Movement (ÖDAH, Özgür Demokratik Alevi Hareketi) has called for the release of Dersim Alevi Academy and Culture Association president, Aysel Doğan. Doğan has been detained with four other women.

The arrests occurred on Monday at five o'clock in the morning in Dersim and have been carried out within the frame of the so called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) operation. As well as president Doğan, Councillor Nuray Atmaca, BDP vice president Amber Kurtgözü Bakıray and BDP member Nevin Balta.

ÖDAH in its statement called for the release of the four women and pointed out that these kind of operations, the arrests and intimidation of Alevi people are yet other efforts by the government to prevent people's right to fight for their own identity and history.
