What does sunni muslims think about Shia Islam??

PostAuthor: K4L_2007 » Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:52 pm

I just want to know what you think about it, and why you/they believe that Sunni is the realer than Shia.

I dont want to start an argumenting discussion, but you can post arguments of why you think one is realer than the other and i just want to see your views on the two versions of Islam

Sufism is the way. Sufism is the highly unrecognized third Version of Islam. You can be a Sufi and embrass either Sunni, Shiite, or neither ideology. Therfore, Sufies are the great third branch of Islam.

Sufism is also the only branch of Islam to actually have come from the Quran. Sunni and Shiite Islam came from a power struggle upon the succession of Muhammad. Sufism didn't.

The essence of Being/Truth/God is devoid of every form and quality, and hence unmanifested, yet it is inseparable from every form and phenomenon either material or spiritual. It is often understood to imply that every phenomenon is an aspect of Truth and at the same time attribution of existence to it is false. The chief aim of all Sufis then is to let go of all notions of duality, therefore the individual self also, and realize the divine unity.

This here is the true nature of god being told. God/Allah is a force, not an actual being. One must be able to be at peace with one's self in order to bring peace to the world.

Well tbh, I dont want to call myself shia/sunni, only Muslim

I dont want an ideology to tell me how to think

Shia islam

Sunna (not sunni) - Written by muhammad and the 12 imams - I think sunna is something made up by muslims who seek power, such as caliphs, how do i know they wrote this? While the Quran says; the holy Quran is your only Sunna and Hadith, God does never forget.
the 12th imam will return - I think Jesus will return to lead us, like it says in the quran
The Quran tells you what to think/believe/know and the Quran says; Do not create rules for Islam, Even Muhammad got punished by God when he told the muslims about a rule which God didnt state in the Quran, and he punished him in public so all could see that God was the one you had to obey, not Muhammad.
So now these claim that Muhammad had written Sunna, which is full of rules, not mentioned in the Quran? I dont believe that
We can mourn dead martyrs of Islam, but the quran says, do not hurt yourself
The tradition is only to clap you on the chest, but most dont understand this, and they hurt themselves very badly, and some do that with whips.

However I do believe that Ali should have been the one who would lead the muslims
I think Shia Islam has never spread itself by war
when i pray, i have an extra line about Ali which Sunnis don't.

But why, why and why, Does it have to be either one of these two? Why not just call yourself a muslim, and believe how you want to believe, and yes to follow the Quran ofcourse, the Quran is perfect and complete.

This splitting of Islam causes war and the Quran says, if a muslim and another muslim fight, Not only the killer will burn in hell, but both of them.

Can you tell me more about what you mean by saying that God is rather a force than a being??

I mean what is a force?? (Yes i have seen starwars)

That's the way of the Dran you've just spoken.

Sunna (not sunni) - Written by muhammad and the 12 imams - I think sunna is something made up by muslims who seek power, such as caliphs, how do i know they wrote this? While the Quran says; the holy Quran is your only Sunna and Hadith, God does never forget.

Muhammad didn't write the Koran.

But why, why and why, Does it have to be either one of these two? Why not just call yourself a muslim, and believe how you want to believe, and yes to follow the Quran ofcourse, the Quran is perfect and complete.

Well why not broaden it up some more and call yourself a monotheist rather than a muslim? Why must there be a division in Christianity and Islam? Why must there be a division in Christianity and Judaism?

This splitting of Islam causes war and the Quran says, if a muslim and another muslim fight, Not only the killer will burn in hell, but both of them.

Didn't the creation of Sufism create war?

Can you tell me more about what you mean by saying that God is rather a force than a being??

A force is something that cannot be fully grasped. It is something without a definite will that takes part in reality as that which defines reality and is often misunderstood. Gods are often associated by their corresponding force. Like Zeus and lightning. God is the force that binds reality together and associates to truth. Look up Sufism if you want to know more.

I mean what is a force?? (Yes i have seen starwars)

Gravity is a force. God is the force beyond all force. The definite force that all other forces are a part of. The one and only divine force. A prophet is the one that truly understands the ways of the force, which sort of makes Muhammad a Jedi.

We all make our own interpretations of this force to what we can best understand it as. To some of us we associate it as a being (monotheistic), but to other a collection of being (polytheistic), and to some a theory (Athiestic).

The one(s) that holds the most true interpretation of the force is the prophet(s).

I really don't like any branch of modern day Islam, except for the Sufi's many of which don't call themeselves muslim. You can be a Sufi with out being a mulim. I am not big on Sunni's, they seem to be like the Protestants of Islam, the fundamentalist. Sunni's seem are more like the Catholic church, what not. Shiaism seems more spiritual than Sunnism.

I was referring to sunna :p

I only wrote what the Quran said :p

But, according to Quran, christians are also muslims.. However it doesnt want anyone to put Jesus or anybody else at the side of God.

Didn't the creation of Sufism create war?

I dont know, did it??

What I meant was, no matter how you believe in God, it is up to you to decide how you want to believe, you shouldnt be divided in a branch because that only creates rasism, prejudice and stereotyping etc within the religions. Also having branches means that you have to choose one of them, which is bad according to me, because a branch forces you to believe in one way or another.

Do you understand what I mean??

Also about the force..

Can it think?? I mean does it have thoughts and is it self-controlling, or is it just something that exists (like gravity) without doing anything of itself..??
