THINK JESUS

Discussions about religion.

Piling - I think you cleared that up in another thread too... And I will say just about the same as I did then;

Oh, that makes it all the much clearer... The roots of Alevism is disputed and mixed...

Some place it under Shi'ism - and some under the Cult of Angels...

Just to add a new thing; it's like my father said - "they're lost" :lol:

Trying to sit on two chairs at the same time... Can't be done... :roll:

As I told you guys Kurdish Alevis from Dersim are not Muslim! We called ourselves Muslim because othervise we wouldn't survive in a country full of Muslims. We took something from each religion Islam, Zoroastrism and Christianity. But most of us esspecially the young generation is antiislamic and are patriotic Kurds. We like Zoroastrism more than any other religion. People of Dersim were surrounded by Turks for centuries but we still had our freedom till 1938, when the fucking Turkish Army came to destroy the Kurds of Dersim. Of course sunni Kurds didn't even think to help us because we are Alevi. In fact some of them might even like that we finally lost our freedom and are depended on Sunni Turkish government. Some people say that we are originally from Khorasan ( Northeast Iran) and that we are from the Parthian Race. However, I call myself Zaza Kurdish.

It seems like everything must be so complicated these days. I just want all religions to get along. I think my Christian brothers and sisters have to be a little more respectful of Islam, especially on this site, but other religions must also recognize that Christians will always share their faith with others. That's just how we are.

It's so strange these days. I used to could say I was a Christian and people didn't think much. Now I say it and people get angry and say "Do you know how many bad things Christians have done?" I can only laugh at that question. Every religion has had bad and good people. I don't have to tell any of you this. But let's just take an example that I don't think will offend anyone here. Everyone says Buddhists are so peaceful, right? But we know better than that, don't we? Look what is happening in Sri Lanka, where the Buddhist government has killed tens of thousands of Muslims and made them second-class citizens. And look what Buddhists are doing to Muslims in Thailand.

Every religion has good and bad aspects. At the end of the day we are all humans interpreting our beliefs, and there will always be people who misinterpret it for their own benefit. I have never said Islam is a violent religion, and I hope others won't as well. Similarly, I hope others won't say Christianity is violent. The quote from Jesus that is always thrown around on this site ("I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword") is taken completely out of context. You should look at what Jesus means when he speaks of peace and war. You can see this when He says "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world give do I give to you." These are spiritual matters.

This is very true, Pilling I have been reading your post and you seem really informed on Kurdish religions.
