Mohammad was feminist

Discussions about religion.

I think that Muhammad loved women, without being a "feminist". In any case, who was it at this time ? None, even among women !

tell me your idea... do you see Mohammad as a femenist?

Mohammad was no where near a feminist. The traditional argument is that he prevented the killing of infant girls etc. However, he employed his status to sexually exploit women. This is inherently anything but feminist.

Look - either you say it is your oppinion or you give us a source for the claim...

This is my fourth attempt to reply. Somehow when I try to submit it automatically logged me out.

The best source regarding Islam is a 4 volume work by TUran Dursun. Because he knows arabic and Islamic sources very well, he has simply translated them into Turkish, if you could read Turkish I strongly suggest you have a look at it. Dursun was a former Imam that became aware of the contradictions in Islam.

Yes, I read Turkish... But you have still not given a source (that we can CHECK) for you allegations... Show me evidence that he "exploited women"... This is very controversial... And can not be taken as TRUTH unless you have DAMN GOOD sources...

I don't have much time, so I will only mention that Muhammed Forced His adopted son to divorce his wife so that he could take her as his wife. On top of that one of his other wives had pointed out that God has been working very hard to please him. There has been various translation of this but essentially the remark was made after Muhammed decided that since he was a prophet he need not treat his wives equally by allocating equal time to each one of them. For further information I would recommend Turan Dursun's book "Din Bu: Tabu Can CEkisiyor vol.1"

There is also another book titled "Seriat ve Kadin" I believe the Authors name is Erdogan Aydin. You can go an read these books. As you probably know, Islam is a single source religion. BY this I mean all the arguments put forward by the authors mentioned above stem from Islamic sources only. I presume you are most likely a Muslim Kurd. I am sure it would be hard for someone to come to terms with the flaws of their own religion. However, i believe it is important for Muslims to critically reflect on all aspects of their religion. Without such a critical self reflection There is nothing that islam can contribute to human civilization. After all Muhammed came up with Islam after reading Christian and Jewish texts, I bad copy of any text will never reach the same level as the original text.

kind regards

dyaoko wrote:yea mosul i belive , mohammad's words are so much better than other prophets...about women.

in quran it says "we made male and female from dust and we blow our own soul [the god's soul] in both of them...there is no diffrence between them"

but in bible says
god first made male then made Female from the a pice of male's bone...to give servie to male.....

God was just practicing with men....then he made women and to console the first man and make him feel less rejected he told the man that the woman would be their to "HELP" not "SERVE" him (bad translation!).

when God made woman, he stopped....because he got it just the way he wanted it :D
Never look down on somebody unless you are helping them up.
