I do not think that publishing does cartoons was stupid. May be it wasn't the right time, that is arguable. However, Mulims have to learn to accept that their laws are not universal and can be challenged. Here in Australia (by the way it is Christian country) An artist down in Melbourne exhibited his peace of art work that depicted Jesus being urinated on. There was much discussion regarding it, but no one was KILLED or attacked for that matter, it was simple a debate. That is how modern people should solve their problems, and in some points learn to agree to disagree.

Don't forget it took many years and lives before Christians ceased to get offended at the idea that the world revolved around the sound rather than the other way round. So please don't give me this Bullshit that you are offended. Where the hell were you when Kurds were being gassed? People being killed is not considered offensive yet some guy being depicted in a cartoon is considered offensive. I don't think such mentality deserves respect. However, as I mentioned earlier, the timing is open for debate.

I work as a volunteer in an immigration centre in Italy,so I think i know probably the situation more than you in USA! People from the Middle East complain,but none of them want to go back,they prefer Europe. Sure it is not easy and Europe is not perfect at all, I am not so blind,but still their situation improves here.
