ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, President Masoud Barzani released a New Year message, extending warm wishes to the people of Kurdistan while also addressing key political developments and future aspirations for the region.

The President began his message with New Year greetings, particularly acknowledging Kurdistan's citizens and paying special tribute to the families of martyrs and Peshmerga forces.

His message carried special importance given the recent political developments in the region.

Regarding governance, President Barzani emphasized the successful execution of the Kurdistan Parliament elections in October 2024 as an important achievement.

He underscored that these elections evidently conveyed the will and ambitions of Kurdistan's people.

Following this electoral mandate, he underlined the significance of immediate action in forming the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to effectively respond to public demands and implement programs serving the population's needs.

On federal relations, the President outlined a clear vision for addressing unresolved and pending issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

He stressed the need to settle disputes through constitutional frameworks and existing agreements, advocating for dialogue and coordination between the KRG and the federal government of Iraq.

His statement explicitly urged for eliminating obstacles to the rights of Kurdistan's people, suggesting a renewed focus on constructive engagement with Baghdad.

Text of President Barzani's message on the occasion of the New Year:

In the name of the Great and Merciful God

On the occasion of the New Year, I extend my warmest congratulations to the beloved citizens of Kurdistan. I congratulate the proud families of martyrs and heroic Peshmerga, and wish prosperity and happiness for all.

It is a great pleasure that the Kurdistan Parliament elections were successfully held last October, and in these elections, the people of Kurdistan clearly conveyed their message and will. On this basis, the voice and demands of the people of Kurdistan must be answered through the prompt formation of the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, so that the Regional Government can implement its plans and programs to serve the people of Kurdistan.

We also emphasize that within the framework of the constitution and agreements, and through dialogue and coordination between the Federal Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government, the issues between both sides must be resolved and no more obstacles should be created for the rights of the people of Kurdistan. As we approach the beginning of the new year, our region is going through sensitive circumstances.

The events and changes in Syria, while affecting the situation in our region and equations, also present a new opportunity for the peoples of Syria to build a solid foundation for coexistence, peace, and stability through dialogue and mutual understanding. Our region can no longer bear conflicts, violence, terrorism, extremism, and instability; therefore, all parties must rely on the language of dialogue and mutual understanding and stay away from national and religious denial and fanaticism. All parties must know that imposition will not yield results.

We hope that in the new year, peace and coexistence will prevail over our region. I pray to Almighty God to keep our people away from all kinds of diseases, adversities, and disasters.

In his message, Prime Minister Barzani expressed gratitude for the resilience demonstrated by the region's public servants throughout a challenging fiscal year

(Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani delivered a New Year's message, addressing key priorities for the region while extending warm wishes to Kurdistan's citizens for 2025.

In his message, Prime Minister Barzani expressed gratitude for the resilience demonstrated by the region's public servants throughout a challenging fiscal year.

He expressly acknowledged the financial hardships faced by KRG employees due to ongoing disputes with the federal government concerning budget allocations and salary payments.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the KRG has completely met its obligations and responsibilities, stating that the salary issue requires a fundamental solution in the coming year.

This statement underlines the administration's commitment to addressing one of the region's most persistent economic challenges.

Concerning the formation of the tenth KRG cabinet, Prime Minister Barzani expressed optimism about ongoing political negotiations.

He highlighted the significance of establishing a united, robust government able to address current and future challenges while serving all components of Kurdistan's society without discrimination.

The Prime Minister's message reflects both recognition of current challenges and a forward-looking approach to governance, stressing two critical priorities for 2025: resolving the public sector salary issue and forming an effective new government.

These goals align with broader efforts to reinforce the region's institutional capability and financial stability.

On the occasion of the new year 2025, I extend my warmest congratulations to all citizens of the Region and all Kurdistanis, and wish joy, prosperity, and a year full of peace and comfort for everyone.

I thank the patriotic and oppressed people of the Kurdistan Region for their perseverance and patience, who unfortunately, due to the creation of obstacles and non-payment of financial dues to the Kurdistan Region's salary earners by the Federal Government, endured another difficult financial year. The Kurdistan Regional Government has fully fulfilled all its obligations, therefore this issue needs to be fundamentally resolved in the coming year.

We also hope that, at the earliest opportunity, the dialogue between the political parties of the Kurdistan Region will conclude and reach an agreement on forming the new cabinet of government, in order to establish a strong and comprehensive unified government that can meet current and future responsibilities and challenges, and serve all components of the Kurdistan Region without discrimination.

Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope it will be a year of peace, tranquility, and prosperity.

It is impossible for a Kurdish to throw down all his weapons without one hundred percent international guarantees, yes a part of the weapon can be transferred to the army of the real federal state.

The only solution to the Kurdish issue is the federal democratic solution in Syria, Iraq, Iran and Turkey.

Turkey looks strong from the outside, but from the inside it is collapsing and its economy is collapsing.
The Ottoman dream is over, Arabs cannot be deceived in the Internet age neither in the name of Islam nor in the name of Satan.

When there is true peace between Turkey and Kurds, then their economy will flourish.

Syria, in agreement with Kuwaiti companies, is working on a water project to pull the water of the Degla River from the Iraqi side to the Hasakah areas, increasing the desert of Iraq and a serious danger to Iraq.

Iran and Russia will not forget Turkey's betrayal to them, and now that plans are to use and tear the Kurdish paper against Turkey, and if Turkey is divided, Turkey will become a small country.

The situation of Mr. Al-Shara is unstable even from the Islamic groups itself, there are several scenarios awaiting him internally and abroad and he may be removed in a moment. The security situation in Syria is unstable, especially as it poses a danger to Iran, the Shiites of Iraq and the region.

Nobody knows what Trump will do to Iran

Now Turkey is not negotiating with the Kurds for the blackness of our eyes, but because it is weak internally and knows Turkey cannot make any progress with the existence of war with the Kurds.

The Kurds are originally a loser and deprived of everything and will not be sad if our enemy becomes a loser too, but that would be a national achievement.

Iraq is also unstable, especially with the existence of law, which will increase its problems.

Although I wish all well, peace and love, I expect the trouble in the Middle East to start strong starting tomorrow.

There is no solution for the Middle East without giving the Kurds a Kurdish state
