Second killing on same Tottenham road

A murder investigation has been launched after the second fatal stabbing in a month on the same road in north London

Police and paramedics found a man, believed to be in his 20s, stabbed in West Green Road, Tottenham, at about 4pm on Monday.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A crime scene remained in place in West Green Road on Monday night.

Local residents were told they would see an increased number of officers conducting patrols in the area.

There have been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances continued.

On January 19, student Anas Mezenner, 17, was stabbed to death on West Green Road, near Turnpike Lane station shortly after 9pm.

Another male, also 17, had non life-threatening stab injuries.

A friend said Anas, a keen gamer and Liverpool fan, had been attacked after confronting muggers who stole another friend’s phone.

Anas’ mother told the Standard her son was a “lovely boy” who dreamed of being a pilot.

Five teenagers aged 14 to 17 have been charged with Anas’ murder and will stand trial on a date to be confirmed.

Scotland Yard said it was too early to say if the two killings are linked.

Brixton stabbing:

16-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in a residential road in Brixton

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Henry Road at 6.15pm.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found the teenager suffering a knife injury.

A resident from the nearby Oval Quarter development said she could see “CPR being performed” in the new-build estate.

He has been rushed to a south London hospital where police say he remains in a critical condition.

Police said there have been no arrests.

A section 60 has been authorised for the areas between Brixton Road, Camberwell New Road, Denmark Hill and Coldharbour Lane. It will expire at 6.45am on Wednesday, February 24.

It comes hours after police named Tyreke Watson, 21, as the victim of a fatal stabbing in Tottenham — the second murder victim on the same street in less than a month.

Murder probe after teenager stabbed to death in south London

A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death in south London.

The victim, believed to be aged 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after he suffered multiple knife wounds.

Police were called at just after midnight on Wednesday to the scene in Alpha Road, Croydon.

His next of kin have been informed but a post mortem is yet to be held.

A police statement said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 12:12hrs on Wednesday, 3 March to Alpha Road to a report of a man found with stab wounds. Officers attended.

Man killed in triple stabbing

A young man who was killed in a triple stabbing at a vigil for a teenager knifed to death in the same street has been named

Reece Young, 23, was knifed to death and two other men suffered stab wounds in an incident near flats in Alpha Road, Croydon, on Tuesday night.

Mr Young’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Friends of Tai Jordan O’Donnell, 19, who died on March 3 had gathered for a small vigil when the stabbings took place.

Neighbours saw police run from their vehicles with first aid kits and a defibrillator to try and save the victim. But he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men, who police said were connected to the incident, arrived at a south London hospital with stab injuries. One, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

After his arrest, police said the second man assaulted officers and NHS staff before forcing his way out of the hospital.

An urgent search was carried out and he was returned to custody on Wednesday evening.

Urgent enquiries are ongoing to trace him, Scotland Yard said in a statement on Wednesday night.

A cousin told the Standard: “We are worried about his mother we can’t find her. She knows about his death and is devastated but hasn’t seen the body. We are very concerned.”

Tai, 19, bled to death from a number of knife wounds to his legs yards from where last night’s victim died.

Scotland Yard said it was too early link Tuesday’s incident to Tai’s death.

However, the altercation is believed to have taken place while a small vigil was being held for him.

One witness heard an argument on the street just minutes before Tuesday’s three stabbings.

The resident said: “There was a huge row... A man was shouting as well but I couldn’t make out what he was saying. It was very violent and aggressive.”

Another local said: “I heard arguing, there was a group of people on the street. We live in a no through road and groups can’t get out at the end.

“It happened right outside the flat where someone else died a few weeks ago.”

There were three crime scene tents marking the spot which each man was stabbed.

Forensics officers were scouring for clues and officers were carrying out door to door inquiries.

Tai’s mother Stacey, 35, said in a statement “my baby” Tai “deserves to be remembered for the amazing young man he was – not just another statistic”.

She added: “As a family we implore people please put down your knives.”

Kamila Ahmad, 22, of Mitcham, is due to stand trial accused of Tai’s murder at the Old Bailey at a date in the future. A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh, who is leading the investigation into Tuesday’s incident, said: “We believe this incident was witnessed by a number of people.

“They had gathered for a small vigil in remembrance of another recent fatal stabbing victim when an altercation began.

"Some of those people have already spoken to police, but I believe there are others who captured images and video of what happened. I need those people to contact us immediately.

“The information they have could prove vital in establishing the chain of events that has led to a young man losing his life.

"One arrest has been made and my team are working with colleagues across the Met to establish the whereabouts of the second man.

“We believe he suffered injuries that require urgent medical attention. He is urged to make contact with us immediately."

Gunman caught on CCTV

n a terrifying image, a gunman is caught on camera trying to shoot dead a reveller outside a West End nightclub

Tristan Samuels was shot twice in the back as he and a friend who had been stabbed fled a fight that erupted inside Opium in Soho. The brawl had spilled out onto crowded Rupert Street at 3am on August 25, 2019.

CCTV captured Richard Palmer, 39, racing after the stab victim, who collapses, and drawing a Beretta handgun from his bag as he gets closer.

One man could be heard telling Mr Samuels, in his 20s, to run, Woolwich crown court heard yesterday.

When Palmer catches up, he fires two shots in the middle of the street, hitting him twice. Palmer then ran to a silver Jaguar parked nearby and drove off.

Mr Samuels took himself to a central London hospital suffering damage to his internal organs, which was not critical. His friend was taken to hospital for his wounds but was also not in a life-threatening condition.

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command attended the scene and found two bullet casings. They began reviewing CCTV, dashcam footage and speaking to witnesses.

Officers found the car parked outside an address in Ruislip on August 26 with Palmer’s fingerprints on the rear doors. Enquiries revealed that Palmer met with Bolanle Roberts, 43, the day after the shooting to get rid of the gun.

Following a chase and struggle, Roberts was arrested on August 27 in Acton.

A search revealed £48,132 in cash and heroin and crack cocaine worth £27,000. Officers also found keys to a flat in Coleridge Drive, Ruislip, which was not Roberts’s home address.

In an airing cupboard of that property, a cache of firearms and ammunition were hidden in a rucksack. Around £95,000 of heroin was also discovered.

Among the firearms seized was the loaded Beretta used in the shooting, complete with rounds and a silencer.

The court was told that Roberts was a “quartermaster” for those who needed access to guns and ammo and could produce them when called upon. After becoming aware of Roberts’s arrest, Palmer when into hiding at a hotel in Hanwell assisted by Robert Dolan, 34.

Palmer, of Ealing, was sentenced to 15 years and six months after pleading guilty to attempted murder and firearm offences. Roberts of Ealing, received 15 years for possessing firearms and supplying Class A drugs. Dolan, of Hounslow, admitted assisting an offender, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He was jailed for 12-and-a-half years.

Rambo’ machete attack on train

A teenager was left blind in one eye after falling victim to a vicious gang attack with machetes on a north London train.

Jaheim Smith-Williams and Gabriel Burke-Georgiou, both 18, have both been jailed for six years and nine months for the attack, while a 15-year-old boy was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

British Transport Police said the victim and his attackers were from rival gangs which was the reason behind the brutal attack.

The 18-year-old victim was targeted as the northbound train left Northumberland Park station in Tottenham at around 7pm on September 24 last year.

Burke-Georgiou, then 17, started the attack before Smith-Williams pulled out a Rambo-style knife, lunging at the victim at least three times.

Shocked train passengers attempted to flee the carriage, initially blocking the attempts of the younger boy – then 14-years-old - to join in the attack.

The boy eventually fought through the crowd to join in the assault, pulling out a machete he had been carrying.

The victim was stabbed several times more as he retreated down the train carriage, falling to the floor with his hand over his left eye.

The attackers fled at Meridian Water station, stealing the victim’s electric scooter and ditching the knives nearby, while the wounded teenager also left the train and collapsed outside a nearby supermarket.

“This was a premeditated and vicious attack on-board a busy train which left the victim with life-changing injuries”, said British Transport Police Detective Constable Nick Barr.

“It was incredibly distressing for witnessing passengers and I would like to thank those witnesses for assisting our investigation and bringing those responsible to justice.”

Smith-Williams, from Spitalfields in east London, Burke-Georgiou, of Tottenham, and the 15-year-old from north London all admitted wounding with intent to grievous bodily harm.

They were sentenced at the Old Bailey on April 9.

Robbers attacked off-duty officer

An off-duty Met police officer was ambushed by 12 robbers who hit him with a glass bottle before snatching his warrant card and designer watch outside a west London bar

A Good Samaritan intervened to stop the mob “raining down blows” on the constable but was knocked unconscious and left sprawling in the road, a court heard last Friday.

Harrowing CCTV then captured Daniel Agyeman, 30 - one of five men jailed for a total of nearly 25 years - riffling through the man’s pockets for items to steal as he lay helpless on the ground.

The officer, 25, was enjoying a night out at the bar in Rayners Lane, Harrow when he became aware of two men watching him on November 17, 2019.

As he left at 3am with a friend, a thug came from behind and looped his arms around his neck, pulling him backwards and back onto the pavement.

A dozen males then rushed around the victim and began a frantic attack, smashing the bottle on his arm in the process.

One suspect yanked a chain from around his neck, whilst another man punched him repeatedly until he handed over the valuable watch.

The officer’s friend was punched in the face and suffered a broken nose and fractured jaw.

A brave passer-by, not known to either man, attempted to halt the attack. He was punched before falling unconscious into the road.

The jury watched footage of Agyeman pulling at his pockets, apparently looking to steal any possessions.

Another man attempted to make his way through the crowd to help but had punches thrown at him. He escaped without suffering any injuries.

As the suspects left the scene, the policeman realised his police ID, bank cards, driving licence and Oyster card were missing.

He immediately ran to a police station to report the incident and was later treated for bruising to his ribs, back and shoulders.

Officers poured over hours of CCTV to identify five of the 12 individuals involved.

Further work placed vehicles and mobiles belonging to Agyeman, Christian Bangisa, 29, and Rodney Abrokwa, 31, in the area.

In February last year, the trio and Iraawoosan Alba, 31, were arrested at various addresses in south and east London.

Police found clothing matching those worn by the men on CCTV. Shariff Fussaini, 29, was later arrested in Westcliff-On-Sea, Essex.

In a statement, the officer said as well as continuous pain, he lives in fear of a similar attack.

After being convicted of violent disorder and robbery at Harrow Crown Crown, Agyeman, of Sandfield Place, Croydon was jailed for five years; Bangisa, of Fair Street, Southwark, four years and one month; Abrokwa, of Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, four years and six months; Alba, of Fuller Road, Dagenham six years; and Fussaini, of London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea five years.

Detective Inspector Gavin Collins, from the Met’s Operation Venice team, said: “The group became aware that the victim was a police officer when they found his warrant card.

“They subsequently continued to rain blows down on the victim and committed further violence against others in the area, demonstrating their arrogance and total disregard for the fact that they were assaulting an emergency worker.

“I hope that knowing this group of men will be spending a significant time in prison provides some reassurance to the victims, and those who witnessed this awful incident.

“The Met and the judicial system will not tolerate violence in any form, not least when it is committed against a person who regularly and knowingly puts themselves in harm’s way for others.”

Boy, 16, critical after being stabbed

Officers responding to reports of a stabbing found the 16-year-old boy with knife wounds in Grand Parade, Green Lanes, at 9pm on Monday

Footage posted to social media shows the teenager’s bloody clothing cut off by paramedics before he was taken to hospital. He remains there in a critical condition.

Police are probing a possible link between the stabbing and a robbery on a nearby popular jogging route in Finsbury Park, where they later found a discarded gun.

The suspect, described by police as a slim black man, dressed all in black and carrying a grey man bag, was chased by police from Parkland Walk before fleeing towards Upper Tollington Road. After the chase police found a discarded bag containing a firearm.

No arrests have been made.

A manhunt is continuing after a teenager was stabbed to death in south-east London

Police were called to reports of a 17-year-old boy lying on the ground with stab wounds in Sydenham at around 7.20pm on Saturday.

Paramedics and London’s air ambulance also arrived at the junction of Hazel Grove and Sydenham Road, but he was pronounced dead shortly after 8pm.

According to one report, a video of the aftermath records the moment a 999 operator gives advice to passers-by using a towel to stem his bleeding.

When the person on the phone asks, “Is he still breathing?” one of them replies, “Only just”.

Scotland Yard said the boy’s relatives have been told. There has been no arrest.

A crime scene remains in place and the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.

He is the tenth teenager to be fatally stabbed in London this year. The Met have now launched 32 homicide investigations in 2020.

One shocked resident wrote on Twitter: “Will put flowers down tomorrow. Was horrible to watch the CPR being given.

“We deserve safe streets for young people.”

A 16-year-old boy has become the fifth teenager to be murdered in London in less than a month after he was brutally stabbed to death on his doorstep earlier today.

He was found with multiple stab wounds at a flat on the Shrublands Estate in Croydon, south London, shortly before 1am.

The victim, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1.30am.

There have been no arrests.

A man killed in a double drive-by shooting in south London has been named by police

Scotland Yard said the moped is described as light coloured – either white or silver – with a large black square box mounted on the rear and an L plate hanging down.

It is believed to be either a Yamaha NX or a similar model.

Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Tunstall, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “My thoughts are with Chino’s family who are having to come to terms with the impact of this senseless murder.

“I also recognise that such an incident will have shocked the local community.

“There will be people in this community who know those responsible for Chino’s murder.

Man had hand cut off by vigilantes

A man had his hand cut off after being attacked with his own machete by angry vigilantes, according to locals

A 19-year-old man was found with “life-changing injuries” after it was alleged a machete was used to strike his hand off at the wrist in Golding Street, Whitechapel at 5.45pm on Sunday.

Grisly footage on social media showed a hooded man sitting on a curb nursing his arm and surrounded by a pool of his own blood.

Two men were taken to hospital. Police have launched an investigation into the footage, which is too gruesome to be shared, but said no arrests had been made at this time.

Cllr Khayer Chowdhury, crime lead for nearby Redbridge council, said on his Facebook page that locals had cornered a man who had reportedly brought a machete to the scene.

He wrote: “Yeah...you don’t mess with the people of Tower Hamlets.

Armed with machetes, this group has allegedly targeted innocent people in that area a few times. Locals decided to take matters into their own hands

“Nobody should ever condone vigilantism like this but it should also be a lesson for people who carry knives: your weapon can easily be turned against you.”

A nearby shop owner said police closed off the street very quickly and he had heard from customers the man’s hand was cut off.

Drill rapper Ak6ix7even said people had released “fake news” of him being involved in the attack after a photo emerged of him being arrested.

He said on an Instagram live: “There is a viral image saying I stole a car. I went to buy a car simply and got caught up in this bull****t.

“I was arrested for possession it wasn’t for any of that. There’s a guy with his hand getting all chopped off I don’t even know who that is. Guys coming at my name because I’m a musician.

“I do not harm or bother civilians. Stealing cars has nothing to do with me I went to buy a car simply.”

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “We are aware of a video on social media showing a male who is visibly injured on a street in Tower Hamlets, followed by officers making arrests.

“The first half of the video appears to have been filmed following an incident in Golding Street, E1 that is under investigation. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found a 19-year-old man with a significant knife wound to the arm.

“A second man, aged 20, was found with a knife wound in nearby Christian Street. Both men were taken to hospital – neither man’s condition is life-threatening but the 19-year-old man’s injuries are likely life changing.”

She added: “We are aware of commentary on social media about the circumstances that led to the incident. An investigation is ongoing and we would urge people not to speculate.”

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We sent an ambulance crew and two medics in cars to the scene. We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.

“A second patient, a man, was treated on Christian Street and taken to hospital.”
