Investigators have made a bombshell claim regarding the official report into missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, suggesting parts of it may have been doctored and the airline is withholding information.

Experts investigating the doomed jet's disappearance claim message logs released by the airline and included in the official safety report are incomplete and may have been modified.

The flight went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014 with 239 people on board, and years of investigation have failed to provide definitive answers as to why the Boeing 777 disappeared.

Victor Iannello - who leads the group of independent investigators - claims he 'found some anomalies in the message logs that were included in factual information released by Malaysia', as well as the safety report.

'It is disappointing that more than four years after MH370's disappearance, we are still asking Malaysia to release withheld data,' he posted to his blog on Friday.

'The anomalies suggest the traffic logs appearing in the reports are not complete, and what appears in the reports has been modified.'

'The military radar data is another example of a data set that has never been released in full despite its significance in providing information about how the aircraft was flown after the diversion from the flight plan.'

The 400-page report into the plane's disappearance was released in July, and determined that the cause of the disappearance cannot be identified until the wreckage and black box are found.

Mr Iannello claimed text messages from the Malaysia Airlines dispatch centre on the day of the flight included in the official report may have been doctored.

'Urget (sic) request. Pls contact Ho Chi Ming (sic) ATC ASAP. They complain cannot track you on their radar. Pls ack these msg (sic). Regards,' a message sent from the operations centre reads in the report.

Mr Iannello claims the examining the characters in the message shows it may have been tampered with, and a person's name beginning with 'M' has been removed from the text.

'It is important that Malaysia provide a complete, unmodified log of all communications for the period between 12.48pm and 8.00pm on March 7, 2014,' he said.

'This is particularly significant in light of questions surrounding the delayed response of Malaysian authorities after MH370 went missing.'

Pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah planned mass murder because of personal problems, locking his co-pilot out of the cockpit, closing down all communications, depressurising the main cabin and then disabling the aircraft so that it continued flying on auto-pilot until it ran out of fuel.

That was the popular theory in the weeks after the plane's disappearance.

His personal problems, rumours in Kuala Lumpur said, included a split with his wife Fizah Khan, and his fury that a relative, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, had been given a five-year jail sentence for sodomy shortly before he boarded the plane for the flight to Beijing.

But the pilot's wife angrily denied any personal problems and other family members and his friends said he was a devoted family man and loved his job.

This theory was also the conclusion of the first independent study into the disaster by the New Zealand-based air accident investigator, Ewan Wilson.

Wilson, the founder of Kiwi Airlines and a commercial pilot himself, arrived at the shocking conclusion after considering 'every conceivable alternative scenario'.

However, he has not been able to provide any conclusive evidence to support his theory.

The claims are made in the book 'Goodnight Malaysian 370', which Wilson co-wrote with the New Zealand broadsheet journalist, Geoff Taylor.

It's also been rumoured that Zaharie used a flight simulator at his home to plot a path to a remote island.

However, officials in Kuala Lumpur declared that Malaysian police and the FBI's technical experts had found nothing to suggest he was planning to hijack the flight after closely examining his flight simulator.

And there are also theories that the tragic disappearance may have been a heroic act of sacrifice by the pilot.

Australian aviation enthusiast Michael Gilbert believes the doomed plane caught fire mid-flight, forcing the pilot to plot a course away from heavily populated areas.

IF NOT THE PILOT, WAS THE CO-PILOT
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MYSTERY?

Co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27, again for personal problems, was suspected by rumour-spreaders to have overpowered the pilot and disabled the aircraft, flying it to its doom with crew and passengers unable to get through the locked cockpit door.

Theorists have put forward the suggestion that he was having relationship problems and this was his dramatic way of taking his own life.

But he was engaged to be married to Captain Nadira Ramli, 26, a fellow pilot from another airline, and loved his job. There are no known reasons for him to have taken any fatal action.

Others have suggested that because he was known to have occasionally invited young women into the cockpit during a flight, he had done so this time and something had gone wrong.

Young Jonti Roos said in March that she spent an entire flight in 2011 in the cockpit being entertained by Hamid, who was smoking.

Interest in the co-pilot was renewed when it was revealed he was the last person to communicate from the cockpit after the communication system was cut off.

An expert has claimed the missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 was hijacked on the orders of Vladimir Putin and secretly landed in Kazakhstan.

Jeff Wise, a U.S. science writer who spearheaded CNN's coverage of the Boeing 777-200E, has based his outlandish theory on pings that the plane gave off for seven hours after it went missing, that were recorded by British telecommunications company Inmarsat.

Wise believes that hijackers 'spoofed' the plane's navigation data to make it seem like it went in another direction, but flew it to the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is leased from Kazakhstan by Russia.

However, Wise admits in New York Magazine that he does not know why Vladimir Putin would want to steal a plane full of people and that his idea is somewhat 'crazy'.

Wise also noted there were three Russian men onboard the flight, two of them Ukrainian passport holders.

Aviation disaster experts analysed satellite data and discovered - like the data recorded by Inmarsat - that the plane flew on for hours after losing contact.

Careful examination of the evidence has revealed that MH370 made three turns after the last radio call, first a turn to the left, then two more, taking the plane west, then south towards Antarctica.

This extraordinary claim came from 41-year-old British yachtsman Katherine Tee, from Liverpool, whose initial account of seeing what she thought was a burning plane in the night sky made headlines around the world.

On arrival in Thailand's Phuket after sailing across the Indian Ocean from Cochin, southern India with her husband, she said: 'I could see the outline of the plane - it looked longer than planes usually do.There was what appeared to be black smoke streaming from behind.'

Ms Tee's general description of the time and place was vague and she lost all credibility when she later stated on her blog that she believed MH370 was a kamikaze plane that was aimed at a flotilla of Chinese ships and it was shot down before it could smash into the vessels.

Without solid proof of the satellite data, she wrote on her blog, Saucy Sailoress, the plane she saw was flying at low altitude towards the military convoy she and her husband had seen on recent nights. She added that internet research showed a Chinese flotilla was in the area at the time.

THE JET LANDED ON THE WATER AND WAS
SEEN FLOATING ON THE ANDAMAN SEA

On a flight from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur that crossed over the Andaman Sea on March 8, Malaysian woman Raja Dalelah, 53, saw what she believed was a plane sitting on the water's surface.

She didn't know about the search that had been started for MH370. She alerted a stewardess who told her to go back to sleep.

'I was shocked to see what looked like the tail and wing of an aircraft on the water,' she said.

It was only when she told her friends on landing in Kuala Lumpur what she had seen that she learned of the missing jet. She had seen the object at about 2.30pm Malaysian time.

She said she had been able to identify several ships and islands before noticing the silver object that she said was a plane.

But her story was laughed off by pilots who said it would have been impossible to have seen part of an aircraft in the water from 35,000ft or seven miles.

Ms Raja filed an official report with police the same day and has kept to her story.

'I know what I saw,' she said.

THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED A CATASTROPHIC SYSTEMS
FAILURE AND CRASH-LANDED ON THE OCEAN

A catastrophic event such as a fire disabling much of the equipment resulted in the pilots turning the plane back towards the Malaysian peninsula in the hope of landing at the nearest airport.

Satellite data, believable or not, suggests the aircraft did make a turn and theorists say there would be no reason for the pilots to change course unless confronted with an emergency.

A fire in a similar Boeing 777 jet parked at Cairo airport in 2011 was found to have been caused by a problem with the first officer's oxygen mask supply tubing.

Stewarts Law, which has litigated in a series of recent air disasters, believes the plane crashed after a fire - similar to the blaze on the Cairo airport runway - broke out in the cockpit.

After an investigation into the Cairo blaze, Egypt's Aircraft Accident Investigation Central Directorate (EAAICD) released their final report which revealed that the fire originated near the first officer's oxygen mask supply tubing.

The cause of the fire could not be conclusively determined, but investigators pinpointed a problem with the cockpit hose used to provide oxygen for the crew in the event of decompression.

Following the 2011 fire, US aircraft owners were instructed to replace the system - it was estimated to cost $2,596 (£1,573) per aircraft. It was not known whether Malaysia Airlines had carried out the change.

If either pilot wanted to crash the plane, why turn it around? So the turn-around suggests they were trying to land as soon as possible because of an emergency.

THE US SHOT DOWN THE AIRCRAFT FEARING

The Boeing 777 was shot down by the Americans who feared the aircraft had been hijacked and was about to be used to attack the U.S. military base on Diego Garcia atoll in the Indian Ocean. So conspiracy theorists claim.

And former French airline director Marc Dugain said he had been warned by British intelligence that he was taking risks by investigating this angle.

There is no way of checking whether Dugain received such a warning or why he believes the Americans shot down the plane.

But adding to the theory that the aircraft was flown to Diego Garcia, either by the pilot Zaharie or a hijacker, was the claim that on the pilot's home flight simulator was a 'practice' flight to the island.

Professor Glees said: 'The Americans would have no interest in doing anything of the kind and not telling the world.

'In theory, they might wish to shoot down a plane they thought was attacking them but they wouldn't just fire missiles, they'd investigate it first with fighters and would quickly realise that even if it had to be shot down, the world would need to know.'

Mr Rosenschein said: 'The U.S. would not have been able to hide this fact and in any event, if it were true, they would have admitted their action as it would have prevented a successful terrorist action on this occasion and acted as a deterrent for future terrorist attacks.'

AVIATION experts investigating the mystery of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 have claimed the official report into its disappearance may have been doctored and accused authorities of withholding information.

The investigation team have suggested message logs released by the airline and included in the official safety report are incomplete and may have been altered prior to publication.

Flight MH370 went missing as it flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014 with 239 people on board but a definitive explanation of the Boeing 777’s fate has never been delivered.

It became the world’s greatest aviation mystery and despite several searches in the Malacca Strait and surrounding waters, the aircraft was never found and as result an array of conspiracy theories trickled in.

One was that the aircraft was flying too high and as a result Mr Shah lost consciousness and the plane went down never to be found.

A 449-page report on MH370 was released in July and said the cause of the disappearance could not be identified until the wreckage and black box were found.

The document, submitted by the Malaysian government, discounted popular theories of damage to the aircraft and that pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah was somehow responsible as possible reasons for the plane to vanish.

It did state “do not exclude the intervention of a third party” without going into any further detail.

The report was heavily criticised on its release and now Victor Iannello - who leads a group of independent investigators trying to solve the mystery - said some sections were not complete and other parts appeared to have been modified.

Writing on his blog he said: “It is disappointing that more than four years after MH370's disappearance, we are still asking Malaysia to release withheld data.

Other theories behind the disappearance include the plane being hijacked by terrorists, the plane was shot down and that a mysterious passenger who boarded the aircraft unaccounted for took over the plane.

Another, again linked to the pilot, was that he used the flight as a suicide mission because his last words to passengers before contact was lost was “Good night Malaysian three seven zero”.

Other information led theorists to believe cracks in the Boeing 777 caused it to crumble mid-air and that a second Bermuda Triangle in the Indian Ocean swallowed the airplane explaining its sudden disappearance.

Shock as Briton ‘FINDS doomed plane’ after searching for hours

A BRITISH video producer has sensationally claimed to have discovered the remains of the doomed Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 on Google Maps.

Ian Wilson said he has spotted the doomed plane deep in the Cambodian jungle thanks to the popular mapping service from the internet search engine giant.

The plane vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board but its whereabouts has been shrouded in mystery amid several conspiracy theories that have been put forward.

Pixelated images from Google Maps appear to show the outline of a large aircraft, but this could simply be one that had been flying below the satellite that pictured it.

Mr Wilson told the Daily Star Online that the measurements are close to that of a Boeing 777-200, although there appears to be a mysterious gap between the tail and the main body.

But this could be where the two parts of the plane broke upon landing in the intense jungle terrain.

He said: ”The Boeing 777-200 is 63.7m in length.

"Measuring the Google sighting you're looking at around 69 metres, but there looks to be a gap between the tail and the back of the plane.

"It's just slightly bigger, but there's a gap that would probably account for that."

He said he had been watching a documentary on the MH370 mystery that he had been sceptical of and felt the need to search the area online.

Mr Wilson added: "I just thought I'd have a wander through. I work in digital video so I'm on Google Earth all the time.

"So I was on there, a few hours here, a few hours there. If you added it up I spent hours searching for places a plane could have gone down.

"And in the end, as you can see the place where the plane is. It is literally the greenest, darkest part you can see."

Mr Wilson’s discovery could prove to be a huge breakthrough in the mystery that has dominated the global aviation industry for the past four years.

In another dramatic twist, the Aviation Safety Network also told the Daily Star Online that this latest sighting does not fit the profile of any crashes in the area.

The missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpar headed to Beijing on March 8, 2014, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew.

The last words from the cockpit to Malaysian air traffic controllers, “Good Night Malaysia Three Seven Zero",were heard at 1.19am by either Captain Zahaire Ahmed Shah or his co-pilot.

But the plane then suddenly disappeared from radar during a handover between air traffic controllers in Malaysia and Vietnam.

According to the MH370 Safety Investigation Report, radar and satellite analysis showed it flew back across the Malaysian peninsula and then onto the Indian Ocean.

It concluded that MH370 eventually ran out of fuel and crashed into sea west of Australia but despite the extensive investigation, officials still don’t know what happened to the plane.

The aircraft is still classified as missing, although some debris has washed up on the island of Reunion off Madagascar, which investigators said was from MH370.

But despite the long odds of the plane crashing into the Cambodian jungle, Mr Wilson still wants to search the area in case there were any errors in the previous analysis.

He said: "They know the transponder was turned off for that flight, it could have gone anywhere.

"It's assumed it turned south. But just north from there is Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

"The route fits as well. It got to just where Malaysia switches to Vietnamese airspace.

"They know the plane went left after that, but after that everything else is conjecture."

Flight 370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing with 239 people on board.

Just 38 minutes into the flight, MH370 lost contact with Malaysia Airlines.

The first official £112.5million search launched by Australia, China and Malaysia ended in January 2017.

But early 2018, Malaysia agreed to pay US firm Ocean Infinity up to £51.53million ($70million) if it found the plane within 90 days.

The company have now launched one last-ditch search trip to find the missing plane's black box.

They'll be sending a ship to the remote spot in the Indian Ocean where an ultrasonic pulse - which may have been from the plane's black box - was detected in 2014.

Investigators released a final report which said they were unable to determine what happened to the plane.

The Malaysian government claimed the plane was under manual control when it "deliberately" turned off course, before plunging into the Indian Ocean, killing 239 people.

But on July 30 2018, Kok Soo Chon chief investigator said they still "could not exclude the possibility that there's unlawful interference by a third party".

He added: "The answer can only be conclusive if the wreckage is found."

Some feared Russian president Vladimir Putin was involved in the hijacking of MH370.

US Science writer Jeff Wise claimed Putin "spoofed" the plane's navigation data so it could fly unnoticed into Baikonur Cosmodrome so he could "hurt the West".

French ex-airline director Marc Dugain accused the US military of shooting down the plane because they feared it had been hijacked.

A book called Flight MH370 – The Mystery also suggested that it had been shot down accidentally by US-Thai joint jet fighters during a military exercise and covered it up.

Suicide

Malaysia police chief Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar suggested the disappearance could have been the result of a suicide.

He claimed someone on board could have taken out a large life insurance package before getting on the plane, so they could treat their family or pay back the money they owed.

In hiding?

Historian and writer Norman Davies suggested MH370 could have been remotely hacked and flown to a secret location as a result of sensitive material being carried aboard the jet.
Cracks in the plane

Malaysia Airlines found a 15-inch crack in the fuselage of one of its planes, days before MH370 disappeared.

The Federal Aviation Administration insists it issued a final warning two days before the disappearance.

But the Daily Mirror claimed the missing jet "did not have the same antenna as the rest of the Boeing 777s" so it did not receive the warning.

Pilot planned the incident

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull unexpectedly said it was “very likely that the captain planned this shocking event”.

He claimed the pilot wanted to "create the world's greatest mystery".

Another theory claimed that he hijacked his own plane in protest of the jailing of then-Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, and as a way to destabilise the corrupt government of Najib Razak.

North Korea took the plane

In the wake of the incident, South Korea noted that North Korea nearly took out a Chinese plane which had 220 passengers on board, on March 5, 2014.

Some fear Pyongyang shot the plane down, but others believe it was hijacked and diverted into the communist nation.

But aviation expert has rubbished claims made in the documentary that the pilot of doomed flight MH370 "gently" landed the plane in the Indian ocean.

Christine Negroni said analysis of pics of washed up wreckage shows the Boeing 777's wing flaps were retracted when it smashed into the sea in March 2014, meaning the plane was out of control when it hit the water.

CHINESE aviation experts have called for a search team to scour the Cambodian jungle after a British tech sleuth claimed he found the wreckage of doomed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 on Google Maps

Ian Wilson, a British video producer, was convinced he had found the missing jet after hours spent searching Google Maps.

Mr Wilson released pictures which seem to show a 70 metre plane - a close match to the 63.7m of MH370's Boeing 777-200.

He maintains that the ill-fated passenger jet, which completely vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board, now lies around 60 miles west of Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh.

The images he found, which appear to show a full-length jet partially hidden in foliage, have sparked demand for a thorough investigation among Chinese experts.

Wang Ya'nan, chief editor of Aerospace Knowledge magazine, said the company will help to verify Wilson's claim.

Mr Wang said: “However, satellite photos alone will not be conclusive, and it will take a professional search team on the ground to lay the claim to rest.”

Their team had already used a space satellite to zoom in on a location in the Cambodian jungle, but they said they had seen no sign of any plane.

However, Chinese newspapers claim the company has still called for a ground search team to explore the spot of the new sighting, the Daily Star reports.

Frantic never-before-seen LAST message sent to doomed jet REVEALED

MH370 was sent a final message by desperate air traffic controllers that has never been released

The stricken jet vanished after veering south across the Indian Ocean in March 2014 while flying between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew on the routine flight when it disappeared from the radar.

Despite two large-scale searches of the sea bed, only scattered pieces of debris have been found and the disappearance remains one of the greatest aviation mysteries of all time.

We can reveal how Malaysia's Ministry of Transport has this week released the full log of communication between MH370 and the ground.

Authorities had been accused of releasing incomplete and edited logs.

Notably, the new log contains an additional message that was sent from MAS Operations Dispatch Center (ODC) and destined for MH370.

It was sent around the time of the first unanswered phone call to the pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah – who some believe deliberately crashed the plane.

The message was sent at 18:38:51 and was intended to be displayed in the cockpit on a Control Display Unit (CDU), which a pilot uses to perform tasks such as programming the flight computers.

The message was not received by the plane, and was re-sent at 18:39:52, 18:40:42, and 18:41:52, failing each time.

It is not clear why this message was left out of the official documents until now.

The text of the message was: “DEAR MH370. PLS ACK TEST MSG. RGDS/OC.”

A 19-strong team of Malaysian investigations released a report in July and said there was no reason to suspect a mechanical problem on the plane, and that nothing in the behaviour of the captain or the first officer suggested any malicious intent.

They concluded: “The team is unable to determine the real cause for the disappearance of MH370.”

But the document was heavily criticised for apparently altering the logs displaying messages between the plane’s captain and ground control.

In response, Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport has this week quietly released a 147-page report displaying the full log.

The release comes on the heels of a strong denial from Malaysia Airlines stating it had “provided full cooperation and assistance to all respective authorities”.

Experts claim the new information confirms the traffic logs presented in previous reports were incomplete and edited.

Writing on his blog, he said: “The new log confirms that there was a renewed attempt to initiate communications with MH370 at 18:38:51.

"The error messages that were generated confirm the link was not available at that time, likely because MH370 was not logged into ARINC’s server.

“Also of note is the new message was sent about a minute before an attempted telephone call over the satellite link at 18:39:56, suggesting an increase in activity at MAS ODC at this time.”

Mr Iannello said his team now wants the military radar to be released to provide information about how the aircraft was flown after the diversion from the flight plan.

Daily Star Online contactd the Malaysian Transport Ministry for comment.

MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur and was heading to Beijing with 239 people on board.

But at 12.14am, Malaysia Airlines lost contact with the plane close to Phuket island in the Strait of Malacca.

Satellite "pings" from the aircraft suggest it continued flying for around seven hours when the fuel would have run out.

Experts have calculated the most likely crash site is around 1,000 miles west of Perth, Australia.

But, this month a Google Maps picture may have found the plane in the jungle of Cambodia.

Only three confirmed fragments of MH370 have been found, all of them on western Indian Ocean shores, including a two-metre wing part known as a flaperon.

Aviation experts and governments have not been able to locate the plane vanished en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 on board in 2014.

But British video producer Ian Wilson believed he has solved the mystery when he found a Google Maps image showing what could be the outline of a plane.

The finding could be an aircraft flying below the satellite which photographed it but that has not deterred Ian, according to the Daily Star.

He will reportedly be dropped three miles from where he claims to have spotted the plane online in the next few weeks.

Wilson is said to be working with a firm called Helicopters Cambodia which has agreed to help him.

He told the Star: "I said if I was to turn up, give you some co-ordinates, is it possible you could take me there?

"He said I know who you are and absolutely you can take me there and gave me the price which was like $4,000 (£3,000)."

Wilson believes the wreckage of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 is in a high-altitude, mountainous area on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.

Has missing Malaysia flight MH370 been found in the Cambodia jungle?

MALAYSIA Airlines flight MH370 has been missing for more than four years, with its whereabouts having faced much speculation. But has the missing plane finally been discovered in a Cambodian jungle?

Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, more than four years ago - along with the 239 people who were onboard as it flew.

A report into the disappearance was published on July 30 this year but did little to answer much-demanded questions as to where or how the doomed jet vanished.

Investigators did reveal that the Boeing 777’s controls were likely deliberately manipulated in order to take the plane off course, but did not reveal who was responsible for that.

The search for the jet was ended earlier this year, after 125,000sq miles of Indian Ocean was scoured with no evidence found.

However, a Google maps image of a plane in Cambodia has thrown a new line of inquiry into the mix.

Andre Milne, founder of defence technology company Unicorn Aerospace and a private investigator has called on the search engine giant to explain the image.

Google Earth enthusiast Matthew Betts found the startling image using the 3D function on the app.

The photo was captured during Mr Milne’s examination of coordinates found by tech expert Ian Wilson.

It shows the airplane above the Cambodian jungle, at what Google Earth describes to be a “45-degree angle”.

Mr Milne told the Daily Star Online: "It is clearly significant that a separate independent analyst was able to concurrently verify not only the existence of the Cambodian Aerospace image in the Google Maps database but that the image itself is also subject to the three-dimensional algorithms of the overall Google Maps programme.

"This independent, three-dimensional discovery by Betts further underscores the legal obligation that Google Maps has to the global community to now explain in detail the forensic origins of the Cambodian Aerospace image, including the exact time and date and by exactly which satellite captured the image."

Mr Wilson said the images have pushed him to explore the Cambodian jungle, and he has subsequently planned a visit to the country in October.

He will visit a spot three miles away from the area the plane has been seen, escorted by tour company Cambodia Helicopters.

From there, an experienced hiker will take Mr Wilson to the area the plane was seen.

Mr Milne believes that the Google Earth image has captured the plane mid-flight, a belief shared by the Aviation Safety Network and Cambodia Helicopters.

He added: "I will indeed be following the admirable quest of Wilson's journey into such a treacherous environment as the Cambodian jungle to find answers to the world's most dominant mystery."

Deepening the mystery even further, Malaysian Transport Ministry records show that air controllers received information the plane was in Cambodian airspace.

There was even an enquiry into whether the aircraft was in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, which is 60 miles east of the Google Earth image.

Several theories purporting to explain the disappearance of the Boeing 777 have been circulated since it vanished in 2014.

What is known about the plane is it changed direction and flew in that direction for a number of hours.

Some theories such as pilot suicide or loss of cabin pressure have been debunked by officials.

A GOOGLE Maps image that appears to show a plane in Cambodia could be the remains of a US bomber used in the Vietnam war, it has been shockingly claimed

The Google Maps snap has sparked a new search for missing Flight MH370 after truth-seekers said they are convinced it shows a plane in a high-altitude jungle.

Last week the first helicopter search of the area northwest of Phnom Penh was completed by aviation experts desperate to get their hands on the £53million finder's fee.

And Brit investigator Ian Wilson is now hoping to conduct a search of the jungle on foot, convinced the picture shows the missing Malaysia Airlines jet.

But some believe the plane could be a F-105 Thunderchief  – a heavy, high-tech, ground-attacker used by the US in the Vietnam war.

The aircraft conducted the majority of strike bombing missions during the early years of the war and was the only one to be removed from combat due to high loss rates.

More than 20,000 jets were flown during the war, one the bloodiest and most violent in history, with 382 aircraft lost including 62 non-combat losses.

And the jet does seem to bare some similarity to the plane pictured in jungle.

Reacting to the snap on Twitter, one user said: “That is definitely a Thunderchief – loads went missing during the war”.

Agreeing, one replied: “So many of the planes were found in the jungle.”

But most agreed that whatever the plane is, it needs to be investigated.

And at 70m, the jet is slighting longer than the actual length of the US bomber.

MH370 truth-seekers are still hoping the jungle snap shows the missing Malaysia Airlines flight.

The missing plane is one of the biggest aviation mysteries and has dumbfounded investigators ever since it vanished.

The Boeing 777 vanished on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing.

It was carrying 239 on board.

The Malaysian government called of the search for the flight earlier this year and admitted in a final report they had no idea what happened to all those people on board.

US-based Ocean Infinity had been using a deep-sea vessel to survey a vast area of the southern Indian Ocean.

The original search focused on the South China Sea before analysis revealed the plane had made an unexpected turn west and then south.

Australia coordinated an official search on Malaysia’s behalf which scoured 46,000 square miles and cost 200 million Australian dollars (£113m) before it ended in 2017.

In May, Australia said it remains hopeful MH370 will one day be found despite the last privately funded seabed search coming to an end.

Flight MH370 ended with a fatal spiral that culminated in the jet striking the water in an unsurvivable smash: that is the claim of a new documentary about the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

The Boeing 777 was on a routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on 8 March 2014 with 227 passengers and 12 crew on board when it veered off course and then flew south across the Indian Ocean until it ran out of fuel.

The Malaysian investigators’ final report into the disappearance, in July 2018, concluded: “The Team is unable to determine the real cause for the disappearance of MH370.

They also said: “There is insufficient information to determine if the aircraft broke up in the air or during impact with the ocean.”

But a new National Geographic documentary, to be shown on Thursday as part of the Drain The Oceans series, claims that the 777 was still intact as it fell in a fatal spiral.

It is believed that the plane was flying on autopilot, and that the right engine would have suffered a “flame-out” first due to fuel exhaustion.

The autopilot would then automatically correct for the engine failure. When the left engine also stopped, which the programme-makers speculate was two minutes later, the plane would have twisted to the left.

The Malaysian investigation concluded the aircraft would “roll gently to the left due to residual rudder deflection commanded by the Thrust Asymmetry Compensation (TAC)”.

Engineers commissioned for the programme predict that the plane then entered a steep, spiral dive. It was at an angle of around 45 degrees to vertical, with the left wing pointing almost vertically downwards. No-one on board could have survived.

While the official report speculates that the plane could have flown for up to 140 miles after running out of fuel, the supposition of the programme-makers is that it would have plunged into the Indian Ocean much sooner.

The documentary contains images of what the sea bed would look like were it to be drained. They show the aircraft largely broken up, resting on the ocean floor.

Despite two large-scale searches of the sea bed, only scattered pieces of debris have been found – all washed up on Indian Ocean beaches. Confirmed fragments of the jet were found on Réunion Island, Mauritius and the coast of Tanzania, with debris “almost certain” to be from MH370 found in Mozambique, South Africa and Madagascar.

Were the main part of the wreckage to be located, the positions of passengers and crew might help to explain what happened. In addition, the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder may provide valuable evidence.

Meanwhile the cause of the disappearance remains the biggest mystery in aviation, with speculation ranging from a suicide/mass murder mission by the captain to hijacking by a stowaway.

In July this year, an investigation into the disappearance stated, “There is insufficient information to determine if the aircraft broke up in the air or during impact with the ocean.”

Many theories have circulated as to the reason for the aircraft’s disappearance and whereabouts but none have proved fruitful.

One chain of thought was that based on a Google Maps image, the doomed plane flew over the Cambodian jungle.

However, a new National Geographic documentary to be shown tonight (Thursday) claims the plane has sunk to the bottom of the Indian Ocean along the 386,000sq m of seventh arc search zone that remains unexplored.

The documentary, part of the Drain the Ocean series, relies on data gathered by hundreds of investigators.

The idea of the location of the plane has come from a signal which was exchanged between the plane and a satellite above the Indian Ocean which continued despite the aircraft becoming lost to radar.

Investigators established that MH370 initially flew northwest, before turning south and flying for six more hours.

Then by using fuel load and cruising speed, investigators created a range of possible flight paths following the arcs of the signals.

ATSB crash investigator Peter Foley said: “The data was extraordinary … you’re trying to establish an aircraft’s position based on info that was never intended for that purpose.

“This is something extraordinary that was captured by Inmarsat (satellite) at the time the aircraft was in the air, which very few people knew about and which is absolutely key to the search.”

These signals moved the search 500km south of last military contact and towards the Australian Government’s jurisdiction.

The debris already found also gave clues to investigators, after it washed up on a remote island 5,000km from the search area.

The hunk of metal sitting on the shore was a flaperon from the wing of the plane and was confirmed to match the serial number of MH370.

Amateur wreck hunter Blaine Gibson sought out to track debris, travelling to Mozambique, 7000km from the main search zone, where a triangular piece of wreckage with the words “no step” was found.

Boeing confirmed this was from MH370.

CGI construction and access to personnel involved in seafloor searches allowed Drain the Oceans to probe the longest, most expensive search in commercial aviation history.

Since March 2014 the world has questioned how the Boeing 777 MH370 carrying 239 people vanished en route from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur.

Alien abduction, North Korea and an insurance scam are just some of the bizarre theories behind the disappearance.

But one popular theory is the “zombie plane” theory,” whereby the missing plane’s avionic systems are ravaged, rendering the flight crew helpless, and the aircraft continued flying on autopilot until it ran out of fuel.

That was backed by the Australian government, who in a report acknowledged the flight suffered a sudden electrical failure.

It’s one of the most popular planes in the world, but the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines plane has raised questions about just how good the jumbo jet’s safety record really is.

Plane enthusiast Simon Gunson – who is pals with the sister of the pilot of the doomed MH370 – claims 26 in-flight incidents on Boeing 777 planes in 2016 show the potential dangers.

He said: “Boeing777 has an illustrious history of decompression at altitude without cockpit alarms alerting pilots.

“Add to the mix that MH370s failure to respond to messages from crews, it indicates electrical failure.

"And it could happen again.”

A 19-strong team of Malaysian investigators said last month there was no reason to suspect a mechanical problem, and that nothing in the behaviour of the captain or the first officer suggested any malicious intent.

They concluded: “The team is unable to determine the real cause for the disappearance of MH370.”

When the plane first went missing it emerged that authorities had issued a global warning regarding the structural integrity of 777 aircraft following reports of cracks and corrosion appearing in the fuselage skin, resulting in a “weak spot”.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that a 40 centimetre-crack was found underneath the satellite antennae on one of the planes, which could cause “rapid decompression and a loss of structural integrity of the aeroplane.”

Following the concerning discovery the FAA issued a directive requiring airlines to inspect their 777 fleet.

The cracked plane was 14 years old and had approximately 14,000 flight cycles.

Further inspections of 777s between six and 16 years old failed to find any other cracks, but did turn up evidence of corrosion, a risk factor.

Malaysia Airlines said the aircraft operating flight MH370 underwent maintenance on February 23, 12 days before its last flight.

Its next check was due on June 19.

No issues were reported regarding the safety of the aircraft.

Since 1995, nearly 1,200 Boeing 777s have entered service with airlines and cargo carriers.

In 20 years, only five Boeing 777s have been written off, due to fire, crashes, or disappearance.

The first incident took place in 2008 when a British Airways 777 suffered engine failure on landing and crash on the runway at Heathrow Airport.

The second incident took place in 2011, when an EgyptAir 777 caught fire while parked at the airport in Cairo. The third hull-loss occurred in 2013, when an Asiana 777 crashed while landing in San Francisco.

The third hull loss and first fatal accident involving a 777 occurred in 2013, when Asiana Flight 214 crashed while landing in San Francisco.Three of the 291 passengers were killed, while all 16 crew members survived. Investigators at the NTSB attributed the crash to pilot error.

The fourth incident took place on March 8, 2014, when the Malaysia Airlines 777-200ER operating as Flight MH370 disappeared while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing.

The fifth Boeing 777 lost was Malaysia Airlines MH17, shot down over Ukraine in July 2015.

All 298 of its passengers and crew were killed when the airliner was reportedly struck by a Russian-made BUK surface-to-air missile.

Daily Star Online put the claims to Boeing, who did not respond to our request for a comment.

Their latest statement on the missing jet was issued in 2016 after the plane’s flaperon was found.

It said: “Boeing remains committed to supporting the MH370 investigation and the search for the airplane.

“We continue to share our technical expertise and analysis.

“Our goal, along with the entire global aviation industry, continues to be not only to find the airplane, but also to determine what happened – and why."

They said: “The Safety Investigation Team has failed to provide any useful analysis of data from the military radar.

“It is important to establish if, when and where descents/climbs did occur and what impact that would have on fuel endurance and other implications.

“Of course, there are the somewhat incredible statements about Indonesian and Royal Thai Air Defence Surveillance radar assets not detecting the Boeing 777 in the northern Straits of Malacca.”

A complete analysis of the “most significant” debris should also be carried out, according to Mr Exner and Mr Thompson.

More information should also be released to the the public to held independent researchers try to locate the missing plane, they said.

The IG also wants a more comprehensive analysis of debris as well as all items to be collected from the Indian Ocean territories.

“This debris must be collected and analysed for additional clues,” the group said.

The IG is also demanding to know the exact identities of crew members whose voices could be heard during radio transmissions.

Last month, aviation expert Victor Iannello claimed the Malaysian report was doctored, with message logs released by the airline and included in the safety report incomplete.

"The airplane object image is clear, and the texture information of the forest behind the airplane helps me to interpret what could have happened when the airplane crushed on ground.

"There is obvious ground (forest) evidence to support that the airplane in Cambodia is not the result of an overlapped fly-over airplane in the region.

"The airplane chopped the tops of the tress along its crush path. The chopped trees form a crushing zone obviously lower than the adjacent forest trees.

"The landing crush zone is about 400-600m long and 35-45m wide. Airplane crushing (landing) direction is from west to east."

The Aviation Safety Network says that the outline of a plane spotted by Wilson could simply be a jet under the satellite which photographed it.

But Guo has dismissed the theory it has been caught in flight and backed Wilson's mission.

He has also called for an on-site investigation team to support him on the journey.

But rock expert Guo has slammed that theory, saying: "I, as a geologist with rich experience in remote image interpretations, had a look on Google Maps.

"I believe there is an airplane at the site identified. But whether it is MH370, then that will be another question to answer and can only be answered by on-site investigation.

"I believe an on-site inspection will answer all the questions disrupting readers and relatives of the passengers in MH370."

Following Wilson's Google Maps claims, a Chinese satellite firm and a team of investigators using a helicopter searched the jungle area and both found no sign of any aircraft.

In their official report, Malaysian officials concluded that they were unable to determine the "real cause" of the Boeing 777-200's disappearance.

British aviation expert Don Thompson and fellow specialist Mike Exner, from the US,have accused Malaysia of failing to faithfully and diligently pursue the investigation.

They claim the probe “was heavily politically influenced, and delayed”, and have called on the country's leaders to reveal more about what they haven't told the public.

In an interview with the West Australian, the pair, from the Independent Group (IG) of experts, explained eight areas where Malaysia needs to do more or reveal more information.

1. New radar data analysis

Mr Thompson and Mr Exner say the most important step would be a new analysis of radar data for the missing plane.

They said: “The Safety Investigation Team has failed to provide any useful analysis of data from the military radar.

“It is important to establish if, when and where descents/climbs did occur and what impact that would have on fuel endurance and other implications.

“Of course, there are the somewhat incredible statements about Indonesian and Royal Thai Air Defence Surveillance radar assets not detecting the Boeing 777 in the northern Straits of Malacca.”

2. Complete analysis of debris

The experts have called for a complete “structural analysis of the most significant debris items” that have been found in the sea or on islands in the Indian Ocean.

Underwater searches ended with no traces of the plane.

But debris that has washed up includes a flap and flaperon from one of the aircraft's wings.

The experts want a closer look to be taken at the damage to the parts.

3. Recovery of all debris found so far

The debris that has been found so far in Indian Ocean territories hasn't been collected and stored in one place.

Madagascar has a piece of the engine in its possession, while other parts were found on the French island of Reunion and the coast of Tanzania, for example.

The experts say the debris should be taken to one place so it can be examined all at once for further clues.

4. Comprehensive oceanographic analysis

This would take a look at the drift modelling for each of the debris items before they were found.

Mr Thompson and Mr Exner believe there is plenty more work to be done in this area.

The exact location where the plane entered the ocean is still not clear.

5. Review of what happened at MAS HQ

The immediate response of state-owned Malaysia Airlines and the government have been under intense scrutiny in the years following the disappearance.

Mr Thompson and Mr Exner say there should be an investigation into what happened inside the airline's operational dispatch centre.

The review should look at why the flight operations officer/flight dispatcher was so misinformed for such a period of time, they said.

6. Analysis of air audio recordings

Air traffic control ground-air recordings usually offer many clues or explanations in an aviation disaster.

The experts have called for a categorical attributing of the ATC ground-air recordings involving MH370.

They want the voices in the recordings to be identified as there is still some contention over the crew member speaking during radio transmissions.

7. Review of aircraft engineer's role

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah's actions have been under scrutiny

Captain Zaharie Shah had a long telephone conversation with aircraft engineer Zulhaimi bin Wahidin a month before the disappearance.

The experts want to confirm the engineer's role and technical area of expertise.

They also want to know what the pair discussed on the phone, and who made three attempts to contact the pilot on the morning the plane vanished.

8. Deeper probe into pilot's background

Mr Thompson and Mr Exner say their group of experts doesn't buy into the "innocence" of the flight captain.

There are a number of theories around his actions on the day of the plane's disappearance.

Malaysian investigators don't believe it "could have been an event committed by the pilot”.

The official report suggested unlawful interference by a third party may have been involved.
