ERBIL, Aug.3 (AKnews)- Erbil will host first Kurdistan youth short film festival Aug. 5-8, Xendan news agency reported today.
The aim behind the festival is to show the talents of the Kurdish youth, Shvan Shuwani, a member of the festival's organizing committee said.
Shuwani said Lane Arts Center supervises the festival which will see screening 25 short films selected from a total of 65 works submitted to the judges' committee.
Three additional films will also be screened in the festival. All the films are produced and directed by Kurdish youth, aged 35-40, who did not enjoy a similar opportunity of participating in a festival before.
Lane Center, Erbil Cinema Director and Cinema House sponsor the event. A committee of three experts will evaluate the films which display social issues, women issues, catastrophes, environmental issues, terrorism and murder.
