Kilometer Zero
I think the title is very suiting... The film itself sucks and was a big time disappointment! It's like Hinêr Salim didn't even try to "drive a little longer and do a good film"...
The film is surreal and contradicts social/cultural reality in Bashûrê Kurdistan...
Let's take some realy annoying (read: stupid) mistakes Hinêr Salim made:
1) The main character (Ako) - supposedly from Amediye in South Kurdistan - instead of speaking Badinî sub-dialect of Kurmancî, spoke Amedî (Diyarbekir) sub-dialect... This ruins the whole film! Instead of the main character playing the role "Ako" - he simply talks and walks like he does himself in everyday life...
2) In the film, when Ako get's angry or swears - he always swears in TURKISH...
3) Ako's wife, dresses in Amediye - South Kurdistan - like she was living in Europe... Her dresses are minimal and very revealing... That's realy not how women wear their clothes down there - especially not when walking in the streets - with a dozen men around...
4) The people chosen to play some very serious parts - were totally wrong... Like two of the guys who were a "big" part of the film were comedians - they do comedy-shows and stuff like that - but this film wasn't supposed to be all that funny... People in the cinema were laughing so loud when a guy was tortured - it made me think - "What have you done Hinêr?"
I am realy disappointed with that film... He made Vodka Lemon - which I realy liked... But this film realy sucks...
