ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The first Kurdistan Modern Artists Group Exhibition will begin on Sunday in Erbil and will showcase work from artists across the greater Kurdistan region and abroad.

“Our message for the exhibition is that we want to tell all that art is for the sake of peace,” Hawkar Rskin, Coordinator of the Group exhibition told Rudaw English.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the Hawkar Group Kurdish Art & Culture Bridge will start on Sunday with the opening reception beginning at 11 a.m. It will run through Wednesday with each following day open to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. free of charge.

The exhibition will take place at the Media Hall in Erbil.

Rskin said that there will be art showcased from Kurdish artists across the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, Iran and Syria as well as England.

He hopes to improve art activities within Erbil as well as bring together those interested in art and encourages students from art institutes and colleges to attend the exhibition.

Hawkar Group has hosted more than a hundred solo and group art exhibitions for Kurdish and foreign artists alike and hopes to see more people interested in new forms of art at Kurdistan Modern Arts exhibition.
