That's funny but I have a remark : MUSIC is absolutely unappropriated. in Jane Austen's time, no one would listen to Bach as soundtrack and during the ball the 19th century WALZ would be fine in SISSI's movie but impossible with Regency dances.

I am a maniac integrist concerning music and history :-D

Here are the best ball music (both scenes are heart killers in romantic point of view) :-D

Take Mr Darcy, I take Mr Knightley, he has always been my favorite.

I think also he is the most charming, but Jonny Lee Miller has its own seductions.

All others 'Emma' series have AWFUL and OLD Mr Knightley :-o

Eyewar - Cybernetics and Project Cybersyn

Project Cybersyn was a Chilean project from 1971--1973 (during the government of President Salvador Allende) aimed at constructing a distributed decision support system to aid in the management of the national economy.

Project Cybersyn was based on Viable system model theory and a neural network approach to organizational design, and featured innovative technology for its time: it included a network of telex machines (Cybernet) in state-run enterprises that would transmit and receive information with the government in Santiago. Information from the field would be fed into statistical modeling software (Cyberstride) that would monitor production indicators (such as raw material supplies or high rates of worker absenteeism) in real time, and alert the workers in the first case, and in unnormal situations also the central government, if those parameters fell outside acceptable ranges.

In July 1971, Stafford Beer was contacted by Fernando Flores, then a high-level employee of the Chilean Production Development Corporation (CORFO), for advice on incorporating Beer's theories of cybernetics into the management of the newly nationalized sector of Chile's economy. Beer saw this as a unique opportunity to implement his ideas of cybernetic management on a national scale, and also sympathized with the stated ideals of Chilean socialism, which aimed to maintain Chile's democratic system and the autonomy of workers instead of imposing a Soviet-style system of top-down command and control. More than just offering advice, Beer stepped aside from most of his other consulting business and devoted a great deal of time to what became Project Cybersyn, [...] However, after the military coup on September 11, 1973, Cybersyn was abandoned and the operations room was destroyed.

So I start with the Emma 's (my favorite novel). This Miller-Knightley is more viril and energetic than the Northam's. But the second has more sensitivity and silent passion in his look.

I enjoy both, so after the series I will watch the movie. :-D

City of Life and Death.

"City of Life and Death is a 2009 Chinese drama film written and directed by Lu Chuan, marking his third feature film. The film deals with the Battle of Nanjing and its aftermath (commonly referred to as the "Rape of Nanking" or the "Nanking Massacre") during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The film is also known as Nanking! Nanking! or Nanjing! Nanjing!."

I assume that it was a ceremonial parade since they seemed to reverence the sun in the beginning (Japanese worshiped the sun goddess Amateratsu, who is the ancestor of the imperial family in Japanese folklore).

El Cid

"El Cid (1961) is a historical epic film, a romanticized story of the life of the Christian Castilian knight, Don Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, called "El Cid" who in the 11th century fought the North African Almoravides and ultimately contributed to the unification of Spain. The film stars Charlton Heston in the title role and Sophia Loren as Doña Ximena."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Cid_%28film%29

El Cid is a Spanish version of the Arabic Al Sidi. Don Rodrigo was very respected by the Muslims that he fought with and against. :ymparty:

I had a huge crush on Agent Scully/Gillian Anderson. :ymblushing:

It's amazing that the X-Files debuted in 1993 (when I was 16/17)- I remember watching the first episode. :-o I think I have it on VHS someplace in the basement. :-o I was addicted to that show during the 1990s. :ymblushing:

I liked the addition of the badguy from Terminator 2 as Scully's partner in the last couple of seasons of the show.
