1. The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley

2. Warriors of God by James Reston, Jr.

3. Orientalism by Edward W. Said (still need to finish this one)

Have you seen the film with Denzel Washington? He plays a MEAN Malcolm...

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Yes ! It's a great film... but if you read the book, you will think the film is horrible... There was so much more to Malcolm than that movie

That is the thing... Either way - you will either think that the book is horrible/boring if you have seen the film - or you will think that the film is horrible if you have read the book first...

I am sure the book is good and all... But probably need some concentration - which I don't have at the time... Thanks to that darn university! :?

Well, there is no way you will ever think the film is better than the book. The problem is the film never gets into details about what was going on through Malcolm's mind and what he was truly all about...

...but yeah, I know exactly what you mean :P
