Turkey seizes PKK marijuana stash in major crackdown 15/12

The Turkish army has seized more than 20 tonnes of marijuana from Kurdish rebels in what local authorities said Saturday was one of the biggest ever crackdowns on “terrorist income.”

“We have unearthed 21-tonnes of marijuana, as well as several cells filled with ammunition and explosives,” said Mustafa Toprak, governor of the Kurdish-majority Diyarbakir province in Turkey’s southeast.

The stash, with an estimated street value of 17 million euros ($22.4 million), was seized after hundreds of special security forces were deployed Thursday.

“The operation landed a huge blow to the terrorist income,” Toprak said, referring to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), whose main source of income is believed to be drug trafficking.

Ankara says Turkish troops frequently seize sacks full of hashish and marijuana near Turkey’s border with Iran and Syria, where the PKK stashes the bags for shipment to Europe.

In October, marijuana with an estimated value of 1.5 million euros was seized in the eastern province of Van.

The PKK, considered a terrorist organisation by much of the Western world and Turkey, denies drug trafficking.

Several PKK leaders are labelled as suspected drug traffickers in the United States, which has frozen their assets and shunned them from doing business in the US.

This year has seen an increase in drug seizures in Turkey, as well as an escalation of clashes between the PKK and Turkish forces, which have claimed 45,000 lives since rebels took up arms in 1984.

20 tonnes would take up a lot of space

In England drug dealers do not bother about importing marijuana. They rent houses and fill them full of the plants. Leave an illegal immigrant there to keep take care of the plants and harvest them then move on somewhere else. It is thought that some of these drug rings might have vast numbers of rented properties at any one time

Not only that. There was also a man who made a bomb attack on a Kurdish book store in Semdinli in 2005. But the people managed to arrest him and they found ID cards from the turkish army in his car and maps of other Kurdish places where he planned to make bomb attacks.

And they found out that he was a turkish agent who planned bomb attacks and tried to blame the PKK for that.

And a Ex Turkish soldier Ayhan Carkın said that he killed thousands of Kurds in the 90s with his unit including babies. They also blame everythink on the PKK.

And these are only a few terror actions who are discovered, but there are many of such actions who are not discovered.

Most of the thinks that the Terror state Turkey says about the PKK is a lie, the terror state Turkey killed Kurdish babies and they call the PKK baby killer, the terror state Turkey killed thousands of Kurds and destroyed thousands of Kurdish viallages and they call the PKK a terror organisation. The terror state Turkey occupy Kurdistan with the help of the west and they call the PKK a foreign organisation.

But it is sad that it is also a lie that Turkey calls the PKK a separatist organisation, because the PKK is a more a Turkish Communist organisation than a Kurdish freedom movement.

The PKK dont fight for Kurdistan or Kurds, they fight for all minorities in Turkey and the middel east, they fight for all religions in Turkey and the middel east, they fight for feminism in Turkey and in the middel east, but especially they fight for one person and his stupid unrealistic failed ideology. And for that they send young Kurds to death.

Lol, in fact I did post the news only because a such amount of marijuana sounds incredible, not especially because i believe that it was the PKK more than Turkish State which put it in caves : Both are trafficking drugs, besides with mafia and guardians of villages. The element of drug in a such war is complex, but it seems to be a link between all belligerents.

Is this the place we come just to degrade the PKK and have non-Kurds tell us Kurds about our own issues? I very much appreciate the support, but constantly bashing our freedom fighters is certainly not helping our cause.
