Öcalan wants the End of the Hunger Strikes

Mehmet Öcalan (Brother of Abdullah Öcalan) went to Imrali and according to him Abdullah Öcalan wants the immediate end of the Hunger Strikes.

If you want to know my personal opinion. As much as I love and respect Abdullah Öcalan. But the Turkish racist Mafia state uses him as a weapon against Kurds.
This man lives in a small cell for more than 13 years now. It would be a big wonder if he hasn't mental issues.

Honestly I know he's the leader of Kurds of Turkey, but after 13 years in prison It's unwise to look up to him even if he comes out I doubt he wants to come out for the Kurdish people he probably wants to live his life and have a family of his own. Kurds of Turkey should focus on whatever Demitris says he's a great leader.

It is hard to make any sense of it right now. The message was from his brother Mehmet Ocalan and many times before it has been known that he either misunderstand Ocalan's word or twist them on purpose. I do not believe Serok Apo would let 67 days of hunger strike go right down the toilet like that. We will have to wait and see what BDP says about this. I am convinced they will let it continue.

What Mehmet says Ocalan has said, is that Serok Apo believes the hunger strike has been affective. But a lot of people has shown distrust and not shown their support for the hunger strikes. This is especially outside NK and Turkey. Especially the Kurds in Europe, to some degree, have not shown their support for this method. So according to Mehmet Ocalan, Serok Apo means that this is kind of the longest the hunger strike can make it UNLESS people wake up from their sleep and show their support. If this happens, if people wake up and show their support for the ones risking their lives, they will prolong the hunger strike. If not, the hunger strikers should not sacrifice their lives like that. In other words, the hunger strike should not continue unless people strengthen their support. The hunger strike will remain effective if people support it fully and not half-hearted, otherwise it will also be a waste of lives.
Serok Apo, zincira koletiye qedant!

Well Qonyeyi, personally I'm definitely not the biggest supporter of Hunger strikes. Not only in this case, generally. Because of the health of the People. But the fact is that this Hunger strike is successful and Kerdogan is under immense pressure. And maybe you know how Kerdogan suddenly changed his words and say that he worries about the hunger striking People. This ugly shithead didn't say it because he has feelings , the reason why he said it is because he feels the enormous pressure. But if this Hunger Strike suddenly ends , willy nilly , it would be all for nothing. Kerdogan and his racist Mafia gang would leap for joy. This words of Öcalan must be like Music in his ears.

Too bad he did not tell stop to hunger strikes since the beginning. After 67 days, many prisoners have definitively ruined their health. For nothing.

I do NOT believe Mehmet Öcalan

I did NOT believe Mehmet Öcalan when he stated that he saw his brother a few weeks ago

I do NOT believe that APO would ever give up willingly

If Turkey want APO to stop the hunger strike

PUT APO ON TV

Unless I see and hear it from Ocalan himself

I DO NOT BELIEVE IT

And by the way. Just some quickfacts. For about 480 days nobody was allowed to visit Öcalan. Not his lawyers, not his brother and whoever. And suddenly, 480 days later, at the 67 th day of the hunger strike, the turkish racist state and Kerdogan are under immense pressure and then Öcalans brother visit Öcalan and Öcalan says exactly that what the Racist state wants to hear. And Bülent Agrinc, the assistant of Kerdogan said a couple of hours ago that this Hunger Strike can end at any Moment. Can it be more suspicious? The turkish racist state attack Kurds on the streets daily, and then we should do something which suits them? Sry to say it , but listening to Öcalan is counterproductive. This man is not able to estimate the Situation, especially not after 13 years of prison. The racist state uses Öcalan as a weapon against Kurds. Sry, but thats the truth.

But that hunger strike was launched by PKK for Öcalan (against his isolation, etc). So if Öcalan is a weapon against Kurds, why using it and play with life of 700 Kurds ? I think he is a tool used BOTH by AKP and PKK.

The Kurds ,including me love Öcalan. He is the leader of this Kurdish freedom fight. Kurds do everything to free him. But we Kurds have to accept that we must stop to do everything what Mr. Öcalan says. He is for more than 13 years in a small cell, it would be a big wonder if he is even able to speak properly. If we move on and say , "he is our leader ,we must do what he says", we won't be successful. Beside possible mental issues he can't even estimate the Situation. The Turkish state uses weapons against Kurdish civilians, kills them , attack them. He doesn't see all the things. That's the Point. Like I said. Kerdogan and his Mafia gang would cry for joy and laugh at Kurds if they really stop the Hunger strike at the 67 th day, just because a leader, who lives in a small cell for 13 years, said it that they should. It would be all for nothing.

EXACTLY, it was launched because of Ocalan's isolation

Has that changed

NO

I have ALWAYS believed that the hunger strikers should also be striking for an INDEPENDENT KURDISTAN as well as the freedom of Ocalan

Kurdish prisoners in Turkey end a 68-day hunger strike

PostAuthor: RawandKurdistani » Sun Nov 18, 2012 12:03 pm

Imprisoned PKK Leader Abdullaj Ocalan called for an urgent end to the ongoing hunger strike by Kurdish political prisoners

November 18, 2012

ISTANBUL— Some 700 Kurdish prisoners across Turkey have ended a 68-day hunger strike after an appeal by Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, a representative of the prisoners told the pro-Kurdish news agency Firatnews.

"We take into consideration the appeal of Abdullah Ocalan and put a halt to our action from November 18," Deniz Kaya said from prison, Firatnews reported after rights groups warned about the deteriorating health of many of the hunger strikers.

Ocalan himself has been in solitary confinement in a prison near Istanbul for about a year and half.

ANF reported that the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan has asked prisoners on hunger strike to “end their fast without hesitation” during his meeting with his brother Mehmet Öcalan on Saturday.

According to Dicle News Agency (DIHA), Abdullah Ocalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan said the followings after his meeting with the Kurdish leader on Imralı island; “During my face to face meeting with my brother today, he asked me to convey his message on the hunger strike to the public opinion in the soonest time.

He said that; “The prisoners on hunger strike have shouldered the responsibility of those outside who should however avoid burdening the prisoners with their own responsibilities and duties. Besides my disapproval of the act of hunger strike,www.ekurd.net I believe it should be carried out by the people outside prisons if necessary, not by the people in jails. This quite meaningful act should be ended without any hesitation for it has achieved its primary purpose. I convey my special greetings to all those on hunger strike, especially to those in the first and second groups”.

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş said on Saturday that BDP supported PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s call to prisoners to end the hunger strike in the soonest time without any hesitation.

Demirtaş remarked that they hoped prisoners would consider this call, noting that deputies will not end their hunger strike unless prisoners end theirs.

BDP co-chair said they hoped Öcalan’s meeting with his brother would pave the way for new chances on the way to a peaceful solution in the political area.

BDP co-chair Gültan Kışanak and Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Aysel Tuğluk have also released a joint statement on Öcalan’s call and asked all prisoners on hunger strike to take this call into consideration.

Turkey's government on Tuesday submitted a bill to parliament to give Kurds the right to use their own language in court, a key demand of the some 700 prisoners who have been on hunger strike since mid-September amid mounting fears about their health.

Ankara's move was deemed "inadequate" by defenders of the Kurdish cause, who are also calling for improved detention conditions for jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan -- currently in solitary confinement on a remote island prison and barred from receiving visitors.

The strikers include several prominent lawmakers and mayors from the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), which has 29 seats in parliament.

Since it was established in 1984, the PKK has been fighting the Turkish state, which still denies the constitutional existence of Kurds, to establish a Kurdish state in the south east of the country. By 2012, more than 45,000 people have since been killed.

But now its aim is the creation an autonomous region and more cultural rights for ethnic Kurds who constitute the greatest minority in Turkey. A large Turkey's Kurdish community, numbering to 23 million, openly sympathise with PKK rebels.

The PKK wants constitutional recognition for the Kurds, regional self-governance and Kurdish-language education in schools.

PKK's demands included releasing PKK detainees, lifting the ban on education in Kurdish, paving the way for an autonomous democrat Kurdish system within Turkey, reducing pressure on the detained PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, stopping military action against the Kurdish party and recomposing the Turkish constitution.

The rebels have scaled back their demands for more political autonomy for the Kurds.

Turkey refuses to recognize its Kurdish population as a distinct minority. It has allowed some cultural rights such as limited broadcasts in the Kurdish language and private Kurdish language courses with the prodding of the European Union, but Kurdish politicians say the measures fall short of their expectations.

The PKK is considered as 'terrorist' organization by Ankara, U.S. Also the PKK continues to be on the blacklist list in EU despite court ruling which overturned a decision to place the Kurdish rebel group PKK and its political wing on the European Union's terror list.
