ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Region's Directorate of Antiquities has recorded nearly 6,000 archaeological sites across the Kurdistan Region, with 30 archaeological teams actively carrying out surveys and excavations annually, according to the director of Kurdistan Region's Antiquities, Kaifi Mustafa
In an interview with Kurdistan24, Mustafa disclosed that Duhok province has conducted the most wide-ranging archaeological surveys, followed by Sulaimani and Erbil provinces.

These teams take part in numerous training programs throughout the year, contributing to the region's archaeological expertise.
