Numerous artifacts have been found during the digging of the security trench around Kirkuk city.
Kamil Salaiy, the prefect of Kirkuk city told the Anatolia Agency “The artifacts were found near Topzawa, and there have been previous discoveries of historical works and artifacts in the area.” According to palaeontologists, the artifacts date back to before Christianity and are estimated at 2000 BC.
Salaiy demanded that the Kirkuk Palaeotology and Archeology Department examine the discoveries and work on them to determine the exact date of the artifacts.
