KRG allocates 20 Billion IQD for Khanaqin in 2013

Provincial council chairmen of Khanaqin, today Thursday announced that Kurdistan government has allocated 12 billion IQD for his district in 2013 which will be implemented on a number of projects..

Samir Mahmud told (AKnews) " the allocated budget will be implemented on a variety of projects like roads , new government buildings and sport projects.

" KRG has allocated 45 billion IQD since 2003" Samir said.

I know Khanaqin is mostly Fayli, but are there other Kurds? Not all of them look Fayli.

I see lol, I thought some of them were Soranis because they looked more Southern.

well in KRG its not like that , i have met khanaqinis and never knew till i was about 18 that they were feyli cos they are always refered to as khanaqini not feyli , we have feyli yazidi sorani bahdini and christians in kurdistan all get along look at the arabs , only 2 compared to us and look how they kill each other .

I agree, the thing for my is because most of my family are in and around Kermanshah, so were the only Kurds there, and Lurs if you include them. Do they sound different from Soranis? Because Faylis in Kermanshah have a "stronger" accent.

honestly all khanaqinis speak sorani and you cant tell wen they do , but wen they speak feyli i dont understand much .

This is great to hear. My dad went back to the south and he said despite how Khanaqin hadn't received any of the developments going on, they were still the most patriotic Kurds he came across while there. I hope this money is put to good use and we start to see more development in that region.

He said when the Irani's blocked the river there(can't remeber the name), the people in Khanaqin blocked the iranians from going to karbala and demanded they let the water flow. I felt very proud to hear that.

yeah Alwon river , well guess what heval ? KRG is building a dam on 'Alwon river in case iran tries to play the same game again :)

when they visit Slemani kirkuk and Hawler, or when they come across a sorani in khanaqin otherwise they speak feyli and sounds nice :) .
