Yes of course there are corrupt people everywhere, even in Europe. But the thing is, some of our politicians are corrupt, while in Europe, the people commit fraud. So it is basically the same thing, only it has another name.
Development is going really fast in Kurdistan. When I was there for the first time in 2005, Kurdistan really was in a bad shape. Our neighbourhood didn't have asphalted roads and there was a lack of electricity. All the roads were in a bad shape and the hospitals were dirty.
When I came back in 2009, the whole neighbourhood has asphalted roads and there was a clean sidewalk and so on. The last time I was there, in 2011, they even were laying internet cables in the neighbourhoods.
Another thing, in 2005, we only had 2 hours of electricity, the rest was from the generators. In 2009, we sometimes had up to 14 hours of electricity. While in 2011, we had 24 hours of electricity.
The hospitals also improved, when I was there in 2009, the whole inside of the hospital was painted again and renovated.
